It took the Left several decades to institute it but no one who pays attention can deny it. They were very open about wanting to reduce the standard of living in Western nations, I have noticed it since the 1980's. Remember the complaint from the Left "The USA is only 5% of the world’s population, yet we use 25% of the world's resources."? They weren't saying that to promote how great freedom and capitalism are.
They have never believed that a rising tide lifts all boats.
The Left, using our own schools have wrought so much destruction on our nation that I am worried there is no way back from it. Tens of millions of students over 3+ generations have had their minds twisted. Add to that what the mass-media has done to the culture.
