HOLY SMOKES: Drone Strikes Are Now Targeting IRGC Police Units at Street Level

A new phase of the Iranian war has begun – drone strikes against IRGC and Basij units are taking place at the street level.

This is amazing. The Iranian people are helping identify where IRGC checkpoints and vehicles are located, and they are being blown away by US and Israeli drones.

Less than a week ago, it was reported that a Baij checkpoint was hit by Israeli drones.

The Basij is widely used by the Iranian government for internal security and protest control.

Israeli officials have previously confirmed strikes on Basij bases and internal security command centers across Tehran during the current campaign.

Some reports circulating online claim that Iranians opposed to the regime are feeding checkpoint locations to Israeli intelligence in real time, allowing rapid targeting of security positions.

We are now seeing the results.

A Basij checkpoint has been obliterated. At least ten checkpoints like this were attacked overnight.

• Intelligence suggests Iranian civilians are helping identify checkpoints and regime hideouts.
• The Basij are the regime’s street-level enforcers used to suppress the population.

      • Two crucial next steps
        1) Arming the Iranians. This can include mass paradropped small crates with rifles, ammo and candy. Yes, 80% may fall into the hands of the IRGC and Basij. But they already have AK47's, and have no use for a simple rifle. But if even 1/10th of them get in the hands of the protesters, it is a game changer. And be prepared to destroy any IRGC tanks that might respond, from the air.
        2) Create a gulf coalition army to secure and defend the Strait of Hormuz. They are the ones enriched by the Strait, they should be the ones securing it, with their boots on the ground.

        • Thousands have defected from the IRGC & will defend the people. Others have vowed when the time is right they will defect with their arms. No need for weapons or boots on the ground other than their own people. More will defect when the street fighting begins. They say they signed up to defend the country & not kill their own people.

        • Maybe dropping hundreds of small packages of guns with boxes of ammo would give better odds that normal people get them. Imagine 5k separate gun packs dropped over Tehran. I know a few would find a good home.

          They certainly can coordinate with a burgeoning anti-IRGC citizen militia.

    • It's got to be some setting in your browser. I use Firefox and they show up fine. All that I can think of is it has to do with your advanced tracking settings. Make sure that that's turned off for this site.

      • I use Firefox, too. Usually I have to turn off the advanced tracking protection for disqus to load but even doing that isn't working. I use the ublock-origin add-on to block pop-ups and ads so that might be it. But I have used it for as long as I can remember and it hasn't caused problems. Thanks, I'll take a look!

    There is absolutely nothing Americans can do to get Iranians to un-hate the US for the decades of human rights abuses and use of chemical weapons against the Iranians through their proxies in Iraq.

  135. The problem is that, they need every bit of help they can get. When you have a class of people, the IRGC/Basij, who maintain power through violence, they won't give it up easily. Airdropping rifles also sends a clear and unambiguous message of US support.

    • Now that we control all the airspace, load up a couple CH-47 Chinooks with pallets of those rifles and ammo. Descend onto an open lot in Tehran and offload them there. With the right equipment it shouldn't take more than a couple minutes on the ground.
      Considering the way the people have been treated, word would get around VERY quickly.

  148. If Pahlavi becomes leader of Iran, he will be sympathetic to ancient Persian culture, restoration of basic human rights and the various religions, Zoroasters, Jews, Christians etc.
    But will he be controlled directly by an external power and which power would that be and for what policies and values?
    What deals are being struck and by whom?
    I hope Trump makes it a fair transition of power to Pahlavi.

        But you are probably right, maybe a people’s Democracy is much better than a Shah’s Monarchy which while open to Western dialogue is still a “moderate” form of Islam.
