Global Warming is Good
By Rolf Lindgren
Enough with the endless banter about whether we have global warming or not. Global warming is good and I’ll tell you some reasons why.
Greenland
Greenland is barely habitable, even with modern technology. A thousand years ago when the earth was warmer, the Vikings had thriving colonies on Greenland. If the earth warmed back up again, a vast amount of open land could be settled.
Northwest Passage & Archangel
With warmer temperatures and higher sea levels, the Northwest Passage (north of Canada) could be opened for commerce, worth trillions of dollars!
Also, the key Russian port of Archangel on the Arctic Sea could be opened for commerce for most of the year, instead of just in the summer.
Antarctica
Even with substantial global warning, Antarctica would probably still be too cold for significant habitation. But the Antarctic peninsula that sticks out towards South America could be settled. I think that would be really cool.
Average world temperature
The average surface temperature on earth is about 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The most comfortable temperature for humans is between 66 degrees to 86 degrees. Hence, the earth is too cold and needs to warmed up.
Winter heating costs
Global warming would reduce winter heating costs in North America, Europe, and Asia.
Northern agriculture
Global warming would open up vast new lands in Canada, Greenland, Scandinavia, and Russia for agriculture.
Melting ice & fresh water
Global warming would cause a massive amount of ice to melt, releasing fresh water into the oceans and reducing our levels of water pollution. Fish would thrive!
Winter
I hate cold winters, and most of my friends do, too. I hate shoveling snow. Snow and ice covered roads are dangerous. Let’s warm up the earth!
Ocean shoals
Dangerous ocean shoals could be safe for naval transit if the water levels were raised just a few meters.
Al Gore
I would love to see Al Gore screaming and yelling, running inland from his flooded oceanfront property!
Science
Spending money to enact anti-global warming regulations isn’t science. It’s politics.
