Where’s Senator McConnell? He Hasn’t Been Seen in Seven Weeks!

Senator Mitch Mcconnell hasn’t been seen in 50 days, where is he at?

GOP Senator Mitch McConnell’s chief of staff Terry Carmack, whose salary is reportedly $226,850 per year, still won’t say why his office hasn’t released a video of McConnell. He also ignored questions about his health status. McConnell entered the hospital about 7 weeks ago.

Somehow, McConnell’s bill is moving forward despite McConnell reportedly being in the hospital. Who is pushing this bill through Congress?

A Capitol Hill source sent me a Department of Energy hotline on S.1674, the Mammoth Cave National Park Boundary Adjustment Act of 2025, which is Senator Mitch McConnell’s bill.

That raises an obvious question: if Senator McConnell is still at George Washington University Hospital, how did this legislation move forward? Do Senate staff have the authority to advance legislation like this on behalf of a senator?

I followed up with Senator Mitch McConnell’s communications director, Stephanie Penn, hoping to get answers and a response to the questions raised in my previous video. Specifically: Where did this legislation come from, and how was it approved if the senator remains hospitalized?

Stephanie Penn had no response and walked into Senator Katie Britt’s office.

Some people believe that McConnell has been put on ice to prevent a special election for his seat should he pass away after August 2.

Whatever the reason, we haven’t seen McConnell in some 7 weeks.
We’ve heard his wife flew to China immediately after he was reported in the hospital. We’ve never heard of her return, although we’ve seen pictures of her with him in a hospital bed.

  6. Occam's razor: The explanation with the fewest assumptions is usually correct. Meaning he is dead.

    Now maybe someone can explain to me why they are keeping it a secret. I'm sure it has something to do with his replacement.

      • Our governor can't replace him with anybody. It's possible but not likely he could call for a special election,but that would end up in court. A republican would win the seat and serve until 1/3/27 and then whoever wins the federal Nov 3 election is the new senator. It's more likely that the Republican leader is keeping him on ice ( no pun intended) because he's become a no vote , like Murkowski, Collins etc. and they're hoping to get on legislation passed without his "no" votes.

    • I think the deadline for requiring an election to replace him was yesterday, so I am expecting 'a shocking news release of his sudden and unexpected death' any minute now.

    • As long as he's absent from the senate floor, that's one less republican that would be expected to pass the SAVE Act amendments. If he's not expected to return to the senate floor, pretending that he will return prevents the governor from appointing a replacement who would vote yes on the SAVE Act amendments.

      Every RINOS in the Senate understands that an evenly divided America receives more donation money than a permanent party advantage does. Additionally, an out of power Republican Senator receives more donations by complaining that their hands are tied then does a majority Republican Senator who can only make excuses.

      It's ALWAYS about the money. You just need to see between the lines to find it.

          • It’s not rocket science- Lindsey Graham died and the governor appointed her to fill the rest of his term. McConnell is still alive and in Kentucky the law is different. If McConnell had died last week the governor cannot appoint anybody but he can call for a special election, but even that would be challenged in court.

    • I don't think this a dereliction of duty. This is strategic. The Gov of Kentucky – Beshear who is a Democrat, will appoint a Democrat to take McConnell's place. I think Republicans are waiting out the clock:
      "The 56-Day Rule: If the vacancy occurs within 56 days of a regular statewide or national election, a separate special election is not held immediately. Instead, the seat remains vacant until that next regular election takes place."
      " While the 2024 statute explicitly removes the governor's power to appoint a temporary successor, some legal experts and Governor Andy Beshear have noted that broader language in the Kentucky State Constitution might give the governor appointment powers in certain vacancy scenarios. This conflict remains untested in the courts."

      • Not gonna happen. He will remain the senator unless he resigns or dies. If Dandy Andy tries anything it will either be nixed by the legislature or end up in the Ky. supreme court.

You get co-elected with the President, and then you spend the next 4 years going to funerals, and ocasionally go to the Senate whene there is the possibility of a tie… but.. Majority Leader is a recent construct late 19th , but came into being early in the 20th century. Leader IS NOT a constitutional role, President of the Senate is right in the Constitution. Why is Vance not taking any action? because he does not have the stones ! Plain and simple.

  25. What if the Governor went ahead and appointed a replacement, saying there is no proof that McConnell is alive; of course there's no proof that he's dead, but it would make things interesting. I don't think that the Senate would seat the replacement, as Thune and McConnell are in cahoots on various things, but the Governor could say he's pushing a point, that the Senator is known to have suffered a major medical issue and there's no proof he's alive. It would all depend on a judge ordering McConnell to appear, even if he is rolled in on a hospital bed.

  39. Let the lawyers sort out whether they can keep a special election from taking place due to the delayed announcement of his passing. They will not announce and give Massey a chance to run if they can, but it is not quiet clear as of yet whether the delayed release will contain said special election, or if they must hold one based on medical examiners time of death. There is also the bribery happening in order to see if the death certificate can be changed, or if the M.E. refuses to do so. So many ifs before they can allow the public to know. Just my guess on what is occuring.
