Kash Patel’s FBI Still Reluctant to Turn Over Seth Rich Documents in Its Possession
For nearly a decade, the FBI has been reluctant to turn over any information concerning Seth Rich in the government’s possession.
It is believed that Seth Rich is a pivotal key to the Russia Collusion coup attempt of the first Trump Administration.
The Deep State DOJ and FBI have gone through extreme efforts to cover up any information they have on Seth Rich. Rich is who many believe transferred DNC emails to WikiLeaks during the 2016 election. He was a Bernie fan who worked in the DNC at the time. He was reportedly upset with what the DNC was doing to Bernie. On July 10, 2016, Rich was found shot in the back due to what law enforcement labeled a burglary, and yet his wallet, phone, and watch were left on his person. This is at the time WikiLeaks began dropping damaging DNC emails that showed the inner workings of the Hillary campaign.
It is believed that Seth Rich forwarded emails from Podesta to WikiLeaks.
We all know without a doubt that it is a lie to claim that the Russians were involved in the transfer of these emails. There is simply no evidence that Russia was involved, and there never has been evidence that Russia was involved.
Hillary wanted to deflect attention from her email scandal and the contents of her emails. She also wanted to punish whoever sent those emails to WikiLeaks. This is why many believe Seth Rich was murdered.
Attorney Ty Clevenger, for years, has doggedly gone after information held by the Deep State FBI and DOJ that they refuse to release related to Seth Rich’s murder. It is the law that documents related to Seth Rich be released per Clevenger’s requests, but the Deep State DOJ and FBI keep hiding these documents from the public.
Thanks to Clevenger’s work, we learned over the past decade that the FBI did have in its possession Rich’s personal and work computers.
Clevenger reported on Monday the following earth-shattering news.
SETH RICH UPDATE: Today an attorney for the government told me that I would soon be getting confirmation that several hundred pages of documents related to Seth Rich were found in a previously-hidden room at FBI headquarters. You may recall that on July 30, 2025, Fox News Digital reported that newly-installed FBI Director Kash Patel and his leadership team had located an unmapped / sealed area within the J. Edgar Hoover Building’s SCIF.
Last year’s Fox report described “burn bags” that contained thousands of pages of classified files intended for destruction, and those files were linked back to the 2016 “Crossfire Hurricane” investigation. Now it appears the Seth Rich records were among the files designated for destruction.
Mind you, I don’t have anything in hand yet. I don’t even know whether the FBI will agree to release a single page of what it found. Nonetheless, any confirmation that the files were in the secret SCIF raises a lot of questions. At the very least, some very high-level people had something to hide.
The FBI originally told me in 2017 that it had no records whatsoever about Seth Rich because it was not involved in the investigation of his death. We were told he died in a “botched robbery” and only the local police were investigating it.
Since that time, the FBI has gradually admitted to possession of several thousand pages of documents about Seth, his work laptop, an image of his personal laptop, and another DVD. Nonetheless, on June 15, 2026, I had to file yet another motion (http://lawflog.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/2026.06.15-Plaintiff-MSJ-stamped.pdf) explaining how the FBI is withholding records in violation of court orders.
If the FBI is still fighting transparency so hard on other fronts (and it is), then why would it acknowledge that records about Seth had been hidden in the SCIF? I don’t know. Maybe Joe DiGenova’s grand jury investigation in Miami is putting some heat on the players in DC?
I can tell you this much for sure: nobody on Capitol Hill has been willing to touch this subject with a ten-foot pole. The murder of Seth Rich – and the resulting cover-up – is as radioactive as any topic I’ve ever seen. I hope that changes soon, and I’ll post updates as soon as I know more.

I do remember a blog by someone who attended to Seth's injuries at the hospital. His condition had stablized and he was expected to survive. Seth was moved to a restricted area with security personnel restricting access to the medical personnel who had saved his life. Seth died shortly thereafter.
First, let’s give credit where credit’s due, and acknowledge that Ty Clevenger has a set of b*lls that I, at least, cannot claim to be slinging!
Second, if we simply default to claiming that Kash Patel is a Deep State actor, which I’m not necessarily refuting, that would mean his bosses are as well and that would include the sitting President of the United States, because he could presumably pick-up the phone and compel the release of the information.
Given the apparent conflicts of interest here, the only conclusion one could arrive at is that disclosure at this point in time would involve a loss of political leverage (AKA blackmail), which may also be a factor in the Epstein saga as well.
Obviously, this is all speculation, but simply reverting to the whole “Deep State” is hard to reconcile given that Donald Trump could fire Patel by lunchtime should his interests benefit from doing so.

It's unfortunate there's no way apparently to get information on the decisions by each part of the request tree in the FBI. So suppose you put in a FOIA request for the Seth documents. I would assume it would go down some kind of chain of command and each person would put in a "yes" or "no" to the request. Basically my point is, instead of just getting back that the "FBI said no to your request", it would be great to know who in particular declined the request. They might be doing so against the will of the higher ups and a complaint might get them removed from the FBI so the FOIA gets approved.
