Report #41 – The UnderDog Says: 

The Assassination attempt on President Trump is shocking. He only survived by a few millimeters and new evidence shows there were multiple shots fired at him before he even ducked down and even more after that. This was God’s providence, God’s protection, God saved him.

We need to all realize, however, this is a spiritual battle we are in, and this spiritual battle can only be won with the spiritual weapon, the Word of God, who is Jesus Christ (See UnderDog Report #10-Freedom of Preach). We fight not against flesh and blood, but spiritual wickedness. Also read last week’s UnderDog Report #40-The Higher They Get, The Further YOU Fall for more information. The  ‘god’ of this world and his agents are behind all of this.

PRESIDENTIAL ASSASSINATIONS AND ATTEMPTS

Here are the American Presidents or candidates who have been assassinated:

Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley and John F. Kennedy were assassinated while serving as President.  Bobby Kennedy was assassinated while running for President. Added to this list are two assassination attempts where the targets were actually hit by a bullet: President Ronald Regan; and now President Donald J. Trump.

Reagan and Trump were saved only by the grace of God.  Regan was hit with a hollow-point bullet designed to ‘explode’ or ‘expand” on impact. These cause significantly greater damage than ‘standard’  bullets. For an unknown reason, the bullet that hit Regan did not expand, and this saved his life. Regarding Trump, the last split-second turn of his head to look at a chart saved his life as the bullet hit him in the ear. If Trump did not turn his head, he most assuredly would have been killed. 

STRANGE OCCURRENCES AFTER TRUMP’S ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

Tucker Carlson pointed out three very interesting (and strange) things about the attempted assassination attempt of President Trump during his speech at the RNC. First, the crowd did not panic and run, as almost always happens when there is an active shooter and bullets are flying. In fact, some people actually stood up making themselves a target, as they pointed out the shooter. They were more concerned about Trump than themselves. Secondly, after Trump was shot, his concern was not for himself, he did not allow the secret service to escort him off until he reassured the crowd that he was OK, and to encourage them. Thirdly, instead of blaming others in the following days, inciting anger, violence, and division (as many others would have), he called for unity of all people throughout the nation.[1]

There has been dangerous rhetoric and name calling over the past few months. As Dennis Prager points out, if people in power tell the masses someone is evil, (e.g., equal to Hitler), then it is logical for someone to try to kill that person to stop the perceived evil. Communist parties were very small groups in both China and Russia, but were able to gain power and murder up to 100 Million people, and enslave over one billion people.[2] They accomplished this by demonizing people and inciting violence. Unfortunately, evil ideas are passed to people on the words of others. This is how Satan works.

All murder and attempted murder are wrong, regardless of who the target is.

Deuteronomy 5:17 NIV “You shall not murder.”

Deuteronomy 27:25 NIV “Cursed is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person…”

There has been many murders and assassination in this world and God cannot stop them all (See this Blog for the reasons why). God has, however, protected a number of people from assassination  attempts in the Bible.

FAILED ASSASSINATION ATTEMPTS AND THEIR RESULTS IN THE BIBLE

You might be surprised to know there are many assassinations and attempted assassinations in the Bible. There are too many to cover here, but I do want to cover a few of these that failed,  God’s hand in each instance, and the far-reaching results:

1. Genesis 27:41 – Esau was jealous of his brother Jacob and was planned to kill him, but his mother saves him. Jacob goes on to father the twelve tribes of Israel.
2. Genesis 37:18 – 10 of Joseph’s 11 brothers planned to kill him, but the oldest brother  convinces the others to sell him into slavery instead. Years later, Joseph was able to save his entire family, all of the twelve tribes of Israel, and the entire Jewish Nation.
3. 1 Samuel 19:10 God anointed young David to be the king to replace Saul. It took 12 years for this to happen, but meanwhile Saul was jealous and tried to kill David a number of times. Once he threw a javelin at David while he was playing the harp, but David dodged it. Later David rules the Jewish kingdom as a “man approved of God.”
4. 2 Samuel 15:10 Absalom, King  David’s son wanted to be king and gathered 200 supporters to follow him and claim that he was king in the city. He planned to kill David to secure his position, but David’s advisors helped him escape. This kept the Christ line through David and Solomon, as God intended, not through a murderer.
5. Esther 2:21 Mordecai raises his daughter-in-law, Esther, who later became queen. They do not, however, reveal she was a Jew or that Mordechai was her uncle. One day Mordechai heard two of the kings’ guards plotting to kill the king. He revealed the plot, and the King life was spared, with the ultimate result of this saving all of the Jews of that time from mass murder.
6. Luke 4:28 After Jesus’s first recorded sermon, which was in a Synagogue, He effectively declares He was the promised Messiah. The people from his hometown were so offended, they took Jesus to the edge of a cliff to throw him off and kill him. But it was not Jesus’ time and God and His angel enabled Jesus to walk through the crowd. This enabled Jesus to be the Lamb of God and to take away the sins of the world, to save all mankind that wants to be saved, all anyone has to do is to acknowledge him (Romans 10:9-10).[3]

Although it is a miracle President Trump survived the assassination attempt, time will tell what good will be done as a result. We don’t yet know the far-reaching results. In the meantime, we should all pray for this country and for evil to not prevail, regardless of its origin.
