It's really not different than raising taxes on American manufacturers: manufacturers just see this as an expense and raise prices to profitable levels. In the final analysis, tariffs are just the cost of doing business.

Our government has increasingly been in the business of nerfing economic statistics ever since Regan got elected by a landslide based upon truthful stats. In fact, when Biden was constantly doing his best to destroy the economy, the markets still went up. No, there are other dynamics at play in the markets right now, and many investors don't trust it.
