Former Speaker Newt Gingrich warns of partisian radicals in the Judicial Branch overstepping their role as judges.
Here is some on Newt’s performance in front of the US House on Tuesday.
NEW:
@newtgingrich slams partisan judges abusing nationwide injunctions as a “judicial coup d’état,” warning of “677 alternative presidents” overriding President Trump.
“92% of the judges who have issued blanket injunctions against the administration have been appointed by Democrats.”
“A majority of Americans believe no single district judge should be allowed to issue a nationwide injunction.
“You don’t have this many district judges, issuing this many nationwide injunctions, all coming from the same political ideological background, and just assume it’s all random efforts of justice.”
“This is clearly a judicial coup d’état and a clear effort to stop the scale of change that President Trump represents.”
“Random single judges shouldn’t be micromanaging the president on national security issues. They have no standing. They have no particular knowledge. They haven’t been in the room.”
“They don’t know what the consequences of what they are doing are, and they put Americans and the nation at risk when they intervene to become alternative presidents.”
“You now have potentially 677 alternative presidents and none of them won an election.”
Here is his presentation.

The founding fathers were smart and they distrusted judges.
The Founding Fathers deeply distrusted judges. They thought the lawyer class was dangerous, and if given unbridled power they would undermine and destroy free society. pic.twitter.com/4s6o6uM4M8

Here is more from Newt:
I need every single person who actually cares about the constitution and preserving this constitutional republic to listen to Newt Gangrich’s opening statement at this hearing on judicial overreach.
The way I see it, if chief justice Roberts refuses to do his damn job and if Congress refuses to do their damn job, President Trump should ignore these injunctions because they are unconstitutional, until the point at which a Supreme Court can rule on them.
We cannot be held hostage by District Court judges who knowingly issue unconstitutional rulings, a Congress who is inept and a Supreme Court justice who is a coward.
I have never advocated for not following lower court rulings, but I see no other choice because it is clear as day these injunctions unconstitutional and everyone knows it but we have elected officials who are cowards.
If Congress can’t get it done and if Roberts doesn’t step in, then there is no other option but to ignore these injunctions.
And that will be a constitutional crisis, but not because of President Trump, because of the completed total cowardice and an ineptitude of the people we elect.
