The Return of the Shah Is Gaining Momentum in Iran
On January 8th of this year, it was first reported that the Shah was a potential candidate to run Iran after the fall of the Islamist Terrorist regime. Russian media had made this report. The son of the former Shah is ready to take over and replace the radical terrorist regime running the country for 47 years since the Shah was last in power.
But then, the next few days, the Islamist regime murdered an estimated 40,000 protesters across the country and put an end to the protests at that time.
In February, the people again called for the Shah’s return.
President Trump and the rest of the Middle East would likely prefer the Shah over the Islamist terrorist regime. This may have been President Trump’s strategy all along. We all know you can’t trust the terrorist regime in power. While the US has been in and out of talks with the regime President Trump’s economic measures have taken their toll on the regime. Let’s say the people inside Iran wake up to the news that American forces are on the ground, slaughtering the demons who have been hanging innocent teenagers daily. Let’s say the aim for this invasion is regime change and not to simply take Kharg.
Do you seriously think Iranians will oppose it at this point, after every indignity and oppression they’ve suffered? Or do you think they will celebrate?
I will go even further: Iranians are far more on board with a regime change-aimed ground invasion than they are with randomly striking power plants, which does nothing to the regime and only harms civilians.
At this point, “Whatever it takes” means exactly that. Before January, there might have been a majority of Iranians who still believed we can overthrow the regime entirely on our own without foreign intervention. But those days are long gone. People don’t think like that anymore after the largest uprising since 1979 ended with tens of thousands of murdered civilians.
I’ve spoken to so many people, and felt my own mindset change too. Opposing alternatives that haven’t been tried will only play into the islamic regime’s hand. And we don’t have the luxury to pick and choose while Ejei is hanging our youth from cranes every single day. If regime change requires boots on the ground, then so be it.
Bear in mind, I’m only talking about the Iranian perspective here, and can absolutely understand why Americans would be hesitant to escalate in this way. But Iran is not Iraq, and a regime change in Iran won’t lead to the same chaos as Iraq did.

When Trump said weeks ago that the Iranian people 'might be getting arms from someone' to help restore their country, I assumed it was the CIA and that it wasn't a 'might', it was an absolute.
Regime change is all that will change things in Iran, which wasn't our enemy until 1979. I suspect that's been part of Trump's strategy from the beginning.
They have been against the USA since we overthrew their elected government back in the early 50s and installed a tyrant who they kicked out.

I think President Trump was lead to believe the Iranians would rise up in February, and when they didn't they did not have a good plan B. I do not want to judge anyone for not risking their family and their own lives to fight the IRCG who are much better armed. But an American strategy based on Iranian civilians "rising up" is no longer a real option IMO.

Actually Iran was running fine for decades and was an exotic Middle East tourist destination for Westerners. Not unlike the UAE is today. What happened was the radical Islamists rejected that Westernization of their country, and specifically around their women.
The minority Islamist radicals wanted to restore fundamentalist (oppressive) Islamic rule, and they started the Revolution led by young males to ensure it went through. After their power gain, they quickly started supporting Islamic terrorist groups starting with Hezbollah who was behind the 1983 Marine barracks bombing in Lebanon.
I am not saying Iran wasn’t , but the revolution was caused by the corruption of the Shah and his cronies and opened the door to the scumbags like the ayatollah and his this is no different than the rise of Stalin and Hitler

Our biggest mistake was selling them dozens of F-14 Tomcats under that idiotic Carter administration whose incompetence helped spark the revolution – and after 444 days of hostages, get Reagan elected in a massive truly earth shaking landslide.
