Why would Americans ever agree to having mail-in votes in any election?
In Italy the voters vote on election day at their local school. They provide an ID and a card that shows when they recently voted. They vote. Their ID is returned to them. Their card is stamped and returned to them as well. ONLY Soldiers can vote absentee. They use no machines and the counts are finalized within a couple of hours after the election is over.
This is the same throughout Europe.
