As I understand it, CamelotGirl; Trump is privately funding the Ball room building itself…in the $300M range. However, there are going to be several "floors" below the ballroom built by, and for, US security measures. As an example, rather than a "regular" roof structure, the ballroom will be able to land heavy helicopters and drones…THOSE added expenses (and more) are being funded by tax payers (supposedly in the $700M range ((I know, gross amount, eh?)). It is this portion of the funding that is getting all the push back from congress.
I wish Trumps administration would clarify this issue once and for all. At least let us tax=payers know what we're getting for $700M. Cheers.

They have clarified it. I believe the ballroom wing is a two-story section of the White House. The plan is to build a much-needed underground bunker for military security operations, similar to what the Capitol already has. Then, a drone/heli-port on the roof would serve as the counterpart to the bunker operations, becoming the home base for the new fleet of security drones the military is launching to help protect all federal buildings and installations in DC. I also believe it will be there to support landings for Marine One and the other helicopters that regularly fly from Joint Base Andrews, instead of landing on the lawn like they do today, which has always been risky and not very secure. These are things that will be built one way or another. The world and warfare are far too advanced and chaotic today to keep things as they are. The opposition is made up of idiots who are either pandering to Democrats for favors, like those in the Senate, or are bitter haters, including RINOs, radical, lunatic Democrats, and leftist elites, including DC residents like the woman Trump is referring to, who filed this and many other ridiculous lawsuits in DC.

Call your Congressman and Senators.
What Trump has been able to do is lower business costs through lowering taxes and deregulation. That reduces upward pressure on prices. Closing the border and deporting illegals lowers housing costs by reducing demand. That also reduces spending on government assistance.
After that, it probably gets too complicated for you, except that your gasoline costs will go down and inflation will cool as soon as the Iranian thing is finished.
Overall, prices of certain commodities will go down, but without deflation, the overall price level will remain relatively the same, though it creeps ever upward. Deflation will never be allowed because deflation is what caused the Great Depression.
