The Micheal Bubble
The first time I saw the Michael Jackson movie (“Michael”), I exited the theater joyful and happy. I was uplifted singing and trying to dance (even though I can’t). I can’t remember the last time a movie help me feel so cheerful.
The “Michael Bubble” is the term used for the euphoric high you feel after watching the movie. I am now experiencing the Michael Bubble, and like so many others, I don’t want this “joy” to go away. People are actually being inspired by what Michael did with his life to find and follow their own dreams. The movie is causing many to comment on social media, such as:
“In my Michael Jackson bubble and loving it!” And: “Still haven’t woken up from the Michael Jackson bubble!”
People just want to stay in that feel-good MJ bubble.
The Michael Movie -Jaafar Jackson
Starring his Nephew Jaafar Jackson as Michael, this movie is a biography of Michael Jackson’s life up until the “Bad” Album era (It ends before all of the controversy started). Jaafar does an excellent and uncannily accurate job of portraying Michael, both in his acting, speaking, and especially his dancing. Although there are times Jaafar can be heard singing a cappella, the movie’s producers were wise not to replace Michael’s voice on his music. That would have been a huge mistake because there really is only one Michael Jackson. There is a line in the movie that is certainly true when his lawyer says:
“Michael, there is no one like you, and there never will be.”
If Jaafar does not win the Oscar for best actor, I believe the fans of this movie might storm the stage.
Michael Jackson broke so many molds and created new ones. His songs were not just great, but totally captivating. His music, lyrics, videos, dancing moves, and fashion were all groundbreaking.
Michael’s Success

I grew up during the Michael Jackson era and loved his music and videos; everyone did. His music videos would stop people in whatever we were doing and watch it, every time it came on. It was timed perfectly with the initial MTV era. I remember being at a club in Florida, and I heard the first single note of a song. I did not recognize the song, but all of a sudden, a large group, mostly females, flooded the entire dance floor. It was his song “Beat It.” That is the effect Michael’s music had on people.
Micheal was frustrated with the number of albums coming out at the time with only one or two good songs and just poor ones for the rest of the album. Michael broke this mold. MJ sang on 41 top ten songs, and he wrote or co-wrote roughly 65% of these. He was a talented person and didn’t even play an instrument. As of the date of this writing, the movie has earned almost $800 Million and is on track to be the largest-grossing biopic movie of all time.
His album “Thriller” is by far the best-selling album of all time, (some estimates of 20 million more copies than the second-place album). When counting uncertified sales, up to 55 Million more copies more than the second most sold album of all time. This album stood on top for a record 37 non-consecutive weeks. There were seven songs on this album making the top ten Billboard charts , and six of his songs from the “Bad” album made the top, with five of them hitting number one.
Reverences to God in the Movie
There were three references to God in the movie. The first time Michael is in a pool, when his brother asks what he is doing, he says, “I am asking the creator for an idea (for songs), I want to be ready. I don’t what Him giving them to Prince.”
The next two times is when he was in the hospital and he says “God has been good to me.” His lawyer responds, “God has given you a gift,” and Michael responds that he wants to use God’s gift to spread love.
This issue here is simple: would you rather have a glass of water or have access to the river of good and healthy living waters? Spreading love without the author of love has only very limited success. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Anything else is just a substitute, although I believe God honored Michael’s efforts.
Law Case Controversy
Although accused multiple times, Jackson was never convicted of being a pedophile. He was acquitted on all counts in 2005 after a full jury trial. No physical evidence was ever found, and the FBI’s extensive investigation turned up nothing. Many who knew him, like child stars Macaulay Culkin, who spent a lot of time with Michael at his home, said nothing like this ever happened. His former wife, Lisa Marie Presley, said, “If I ever caught him doing that, I would have killed him.”
Many people believe the innocent MJ was being targeted to take the public’s eye off the horrors Epstein was found to have committed.
What’s So Funny ‘Bout Peace, Love, and Understanding?
Elvis Costello penned the song with this title, and it is appropriate here. The media just can’t stand for people to enjoy themselves. The movie opened with mostly negative reviews. Rotten Tomatoes only gave the movie a only 38% rating.
People are seeing past this propaganda.
Cancel Netflix #CancelNetflix
Now the opportunist Netflix is coming out with a “hit piece” series called “Michael Jackson: The Verdict,” riding on the coattails of the success of the movie.
This has led to a major social media campaign by Michael’s fans, asking Netflix to cancel the release of this negative series. People are actually canceling their Netflix subscription. In addition, there is a huge online effort to get people to sign a petition to ask Netflix to stop the release of this series.
Change.org has received 140,000 signatures so far demanding that Netflix dump this negative series, and thousands have reportedly canceled their subscription.
Go See The Movie For Yourself
The bottom line here is, go see the movie for yourself and make up your own mind. And don’t forget to come out joyful, singing, and dancing.
