John L. Kachelman, Jr.: “A Rudderless Morality on a Shoreless Sea”

“A Rudderless Morality on a Shoreless Sea”

Guest post by John L. Kachelman, Jr.

There is a “black hole of oblivion,” a “wall of eternal shame” inevitably destined for the politicians, their deep-pocket supporters and the quislings serving immoral and irreligious administrations. These betray their country by aiding an invading enemy, serving in a renegade government; being the fifth column.

These repudiate the nation’s governing Rule of Law. These stir chaos and division furthering their evil. They speak of freedom but focus on servitude. They deserve the unforgiving historical legacy of their wasted careers.

The critical requisite for national stability and permanency is morality. The nation’s executives, legislators, judiciary, and ALL citizens, are obligated to maintain exemplary morality.

On October 11, 1798, John Adams wrote to the Massachusetts Militia:

“We have no Government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Tragically today the “whale” envisioned by Adams has broken the net. Profanity and vulgar speech are unrestrained and evidences national ignorance. Courtesy respecting the intrinsic value of human dignity is gone. Personal honor is scorned. The “public servant” has morphed into the “public elite.” Truth has stumbled and fallen in the streets.

The current moral environment of our nation reminds me of Elisha Gray’s comment. He was speaking in terms of scientific reality but the general application is apt.

“A man who is all theory is like ‘a rudderless ship on a shoreless sea’…Theories and speculations may be indulged in with safety only as long as they are based on facts that we can go back to at all times and know that we are on solid ground.”

Gray’s point is true—only proven facts provide safety. Undoubtedly Gray would have been appalled at how his beloved “science” deceived millions regarding C-19. True science is not based upon theory or speculation but on proven results.

A national catastrophe was foreseen in President Washington’s Farewell Address:

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man ought to respect and to cherish them…Let it simply be asked where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths, which are the instruments of investigation in Courts of Justice? And let us with caution indulge the supposition, that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that National morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

AMERICA!! Do you realize that when these two pillars are deserted, the security for property, for reputation, for life in our nation is extinguished?

There are illustrations of this evil today…

  • An article reveals the evil of the Democrats redefining morality. Documented are troubling revelations on the flexible approach some in the Clinton/Obama/Biden cabal took toward basic morality. Listen to this confession, “If you believe that Donald Trump was and is an existential threat to democracy, you can rationalize anything, including sometimes doing undemocratic things.” This frames the Democrat Party’s morality! If it does not, where are the voices condemning such rhetoric?
  • An article in The Gateway Pundit by Mike LaChance reports that “Beto O’Rourke spoke to a crowd in Texas this weekend and made it clear that Democrats will do whatever it takes to regain power, saying ‘f**k the rules.’” My 11th grade teacher stated that profanity, cursing and vulgarisms are only used by the ignorant. Beto’s comments thus reveal an intellectual ignorance and a moral morass! Such traits identify the Democrat Party elites.
  • A Tic-Tok posting @emilykschrader states, “This little brat from the free Palestine cult, Guy Christensen, has been spewing garbage for 19 months about Gaza and now is openly calling to murder Israeli citizens on U.S. soil to 3.4 million TikTok followers. This is not protected speech it’s incitement to violence.” This public call for murder is received with silence from the Democrats. The lost morality of Christensen is seen in his comment regarding those who are standing up to condemn the evils perpetuated in the Gaza: “We must instead meet this crackdown with escalation.” Those in the USA supporting this maniacal evil reveal a rudderless national ship on the sea of chaos.
  • Ben B@dejo @BenTelAviv highlighted the “free Palestine” immorality speaking of two murdered. It was an open display of immorality. “Yaron Lischinsky was a Christian Israeli. Sarah Milgrim was an American Jew. A Jew-hater murdered these two innocent young people — a Christian and an American — and then chanted ‘free, free Palestine’.”
  • The Gateway Pundit’s Cristina Laila shockingly reported “Nevada DHHS Specialist Caught on Camera Admitting to ‘Bending the Rules’ to Provide Benefits for Illegal Aliens.” When asked about justifying illegalities in Nevada, Mack responded bluntly: “I make it so. I bend the rules a lot.” He added later, “I will twist and turn our provisions to fit the way that I want them to be.” Morality has become a personal “twist and turn” to allow whatever is desired.
  • The Western Journal’s Brian Chai reported under the title “Disgusting: New Company Charging $5,999 to Advise Which Humans Should Live and Which Should Die.” There is no moral compass directing this rudderless immorality!
  • And as a final point of the lunacy intent on removing morality and crushing religion in our nation, comes this report from US Weekly, “Only Fans’ Tiffany Wisconsin Blames Divorce on Husband Finding Video of Her With 20 Men.” The fault is not her immoral fornication but the discovery of the video.

The above list can be quickly multiplied. From every nation. In every language. Enacted by every legislature. One expects that within the United States of America this immorality will be condemned, censored, and fiercely challenged. This expectation comes because we are a nation founded on religion and morality. In reality such immorality is shrugged away and some Democrats are intent on codifying their immorality! Remember President Adam’s wise words, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

The critical presence of religion and morality in our nation’s history is found by a simple search.

Historically religion and morality control or condemn a nation’s history. Those elected to legislate, execute, and judicate the national compass are responsible for the nation’s trajectory. But also, in our Representative Republic, each citizen is obligated to make sure the national compass remains “true north” in allegiance to the Almighty.

Astutely noted is, “The secular world, devoid of the perceptions which the City of God brings to it, is like a rudderless ship on a treacherous sea.”

Current history is revealing the immorality that was approved and sanctioned during the Obama-Biden Administrations. Such cannot and will not be ignored. The names hang on the eternal “wall of shame.” Those serving as the bureaucratic quislings will be sacrificed by those higher up in the food chain. Such a reality urges all to come forward with specifics detailing the corruption and identifying the perpetrators and maybe such whistleblowers will find degrees of mercy for their immoral roles.

A lasting historical fact—Those leading politics with a rudderless morality on a sea of chaos will be consigned to the black hole of history’s “has-beens.” The mockery they spewed at their opponents boomerangs, and they become the target. Their bitter attacks, intended to destroy others, destroy themselves. The underlings that carried out the evil directives, will live in misery. All involved have no gilded honor. They have no respected reputation. They are consumed in the black hole of their rudderless morality!

Let me conclude with this one fact—There is hope for a nation sailing rudderless on the sea of chaos. That hope depends upon the citizen’s choice. Will the citizens choose to repudiate those urging a destruction of the Rule of Law? Will the citizens continue to approve and elect those who place themselves above the prevailing law “rationalizing anything” to further immorality?

Long ago a nation struggled with a devolving religion and morality. A prophet was sent saying, “There is hope for your future.” But this hope depended on the citizens answering the query, “How long will you go here and there?” (The Bible, Jeremiah the prophet 31:17, 22).

AMERICA! “How long will YOU go here and there?” How long will YOU flounder on the sea of chaos without a proper rudder? How long will you continue to elect politicians who will “twist and turn” the law for selfish purposes? How long will you support those who can “rationalize anything” to secure their immorality? How long will you applaud those who are intellectually ignorant and live in a moral morass?

There is hope but as a nation we must cease going here and there, adrift, rudderless on the sea of chaos. We must return to Washington’s foundation of religion and morality!

  1. Great article with an important message and observations, but my OCD is being triggered by that ridiculous picture at the top of the page. National flags aren’t flown from the foremast, ever! Only AI could generate such a nonsensical image. It’s giving me a headache, so I have to leave now and try to forget that I saw it.

  2. Without an all-powerful, sovereign, creator God who is righteous and holy, there can be no talk of morality. The ancient Romans and Greeks had a pantheon of gods and they were simply created in the image of the people who worshipped them and as immoral as they were. They are all gone buried in ancient myth and folklore. Notice the stark contrast between Jesus, his ministry and teachings and the beliefs and behavior of adherents of other religions like Hinduism and Islam. Each cannot lay claim to being true religion – by their fruits you will know them.

    Dear Mr. Kachelman,

A brilliantly detailed expose as to where America sits in the world today.
We are all more educated with the thoughts you have laid out in this article, and we sincerely thank you for the effort you have given us. To say this article is “a keeper”, is an understatement.

BUT. Yes, there is a but. UNLESS and UNTIL, overdue, timeless and detailed analysis such as this is printed, addressed and mailed to every single religious connection in our Country, this will have fallen on deaf ears.
I mean sending this DIRECTLY to every church, every building, every charity, every religious clergy, priest, rabbi. Whatever “people titles” that are out there, whatever “think tanks” there are, whatever colleges or universities there are, covering every, single solitary religious aspect of issues, behavior, discussions, debates, podcasts, Tic Tok! etc., we have going on. WHATEVER the outreach. Use it.
AND, with a separate note that reads: “LOUDLY START TO VERBALIZE THESE ISSUES IN YOUR RELIGIOUS VENUES (*especially! the churches and synagogues). Because, without doing this? ALL the beautiful ideology in this article will simply vanish into the dustbowl of history. Unless the ENTIRE religious community, on every level, starts to MAKE THEMSELVES RELEVANT to the last two generations of people on this planet? It’s over. Done. Finished.
WHAT, exactly, are we talking to people about at all these Saturday or Sunday services? Or our religious holiday’s? Is it RELEVANT to people’s lives, *TODAY*!!?? Who, exactly, do these priests, clergy and rabbi’s think are going to be tuning into listen to, or even get off their backsides and fill the seats in the thousands of religious buildings we have across this Country, in just 5-10 years time? The current older generations will be gone soon. Who will then carry out that message with actual *behavior* into their families, communities and the world? NO ONE, that’s who. It’s time for the ENTIRE Western World religious communities to reach back with BOTH HANDS, and try to find a spine!!

As religious leaders -anywhere- if you can’t bring yourselves to begin raising a voice and make pushing back with a new REALITY against the insanity that has engulfed our Western Culture for the people that are in your listen audience? …then AT LEAST do it to save your own paycheck or whatever financial resources that come your way…..and as a side bar, perhaps these loud, nonstop discussions will save our religious ideology in the meantime.

    • Thank you Jan! Agree with your excellent points. Christianity is the only source with the power to save our nation. God wants His children to PRACTICE and not just “profess.” God wants us to PUBLISH and not “privately” bury. The message that changed the pagan world into the Christian world is still viable and its power resides in those with a courageous faith and bold confidence–as the Apostle Paul said, “I am not ashamed of the gospel!” This is the attitude critical for today. Your observations have encouraged me. Thank you!

      • Excellent article.

The greatest threat to America is not Russia, China, North Korea, Covid, or a nuclear Iran. Our greatest threat is spiritual decay.

President Trump may clean up crime, lower our debt, and grow the economy but without a national return to God (blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD [Ps 33:12]), we’ll become the national version of Matt 12:43-45. We get our house clean and in order but the demons will return bringing more with them and the US will be in far worse shape than ever before.

  4. Amen, we don’t need a theocracy nor a dictatorship. We need a nation of practicing Christians under the Constitution! Morality cannot be dictated. It is a free will choice every person must make, just like it’s a free will choice to believe in our Lord Jesus.

  5. Fine words like these have been issued throughout history and always by men (gender-neutral) who loved humanity, especially within their own nation. The problem has always been two-fold: the herd instinct is strong .. allowing clever deceivers to draw the masses into evil; and individuals tend to be selfish, often giving in to one or both temptations — to resent limits on their behaviour (licentiousness) and to wish harm on others who are more accomplished than themselves (envy).
In times when Christianity defined nations our tendency toward selfish perversions was suppressed. This appears to be a post-Christian era wallowing on uncertain seas before the coming of Judah III (Christianity = Judah II).

  6. yes this is a good article about America losing its way.
The article places the blame at the feet of the democrats.
Basically true. However, my Republican party has lost its way and is immoral.
Add to that only singling out the immorality of those supporting Gaza while committing immoral acts while ignoring a nation state, Israel; committing genocide is in fact the definition of the complete American state losing its way embracing immorality as its present and future. As Sgt Friday said-just the facts

  7. I agree, but contend that you left out the real cause: Americans leaving Christianity. It was Adams’ “moral and RELIGIOUS” people. We are the people, and the majority of us are no longer religious. Church attendence is down; knowledge of the Bible is dwindling daily, and without a firm foundation of religion, the nation cannot expect a moral environment. Morals do NOT EXIST outside of a religious framework.

Our elections are corrupt from top to bottom…
    This needs to be fixed.

  16. Many of us are aware of what Mr. Kachelman wrote here, and are frustrated because no matter how hard we try to get others to open their eyes, it just doesn’t happen.

So, here are some things to consider: Never confuse religion with Belief in the God of the Bible, and, Never confuse Belief in the God of the Bible with religion. Sacrificing children to molech is a religion, same with ba’al worship, and those “religions” are going on right now.

The same situation occurred long ago: Isaiah 6: 9-11, and, Matt 13:14-15, so get good with the God of the Bible and do your best to follow His Commandments.

  17. Great article! It shows the wisdom of the founding fathers and their concerns for what is happening right now in our time. Our morals are at an all tine low and that won’t go anywhere good if not reversed. Hopefully this can be fixed. Also looks like Bible Prophecy coming true. Less belief in God, Hedonism, loss of respect for the country, ingraditude, more violence, more attacks on Jews and Christians, arrogance, lawlessness and an “End Justifies the means” attitude, much less respect for authority, and more.
