Did Letitia James Fake Her Father’s Death to Cover Up a Criminal Mortgage Scheme?
Jason Goodman at Crowdsource the Truth asked the above question and he may have the answer!
According to Goodman:
…we must confront the massive elephant in the room — the obvious, jaw-dropping question no one has dared to ask until now: Did Robert James actually die when Letitia claimed he did? It’s the biggest, most consequential issue in this entire saga — yet no one — not the media, not state investigators, and likely not even the FBI — has even asked it.
According to the 1999 probate action, filed pro se by Tish James herself and published in The Gateway Pundit on May 9, 2025, Robert James died in 1986 — yet there is no obituary, no funeral notice, no burial record, and critically, no publicly verifiable death certificate. In fact, current public records suggest Robert James may still be alive and residing in Queens, NY.
Why are there so many glaring discrepancies between the probate action Letitia filed to administer her mother Nellie James’s estate and the one she filed regarding her allegedly deceased father, Robert James?
…The 1983 mortgage Letitia and Robert James signed with Kadilac contained what appears to be a glaring lie: it stated they were “husband and wife.” Misrepresenting a spousal relationship to secure a government-backed loan isn’t just embarrassing — it’s a felony. At the time, FHA loan programs offered preferential terms to married couples. That false declaration was likely made to qualify for a loan they otherwise wouldn’t have received. And it tied them directly to a lender that would soon be exposed as a fraud factory.Throughout the 1990s, as borrowers and investigators tore into Kadilac’s corrupt loan files, one name never surfaced in any lawsuit, deposition, or subpoena: Robert James. Why? Because on paper, he was already dead. Letitia James didn’t file her father’s probate until 1999 — 13 years after his alleged death, and right in the middle of Kadilac’s legal collapse. That’s not a coincidence. That’s concealment……This wasn’t a misstep. It was a strategy. Her probate filing was crude, irregular, and calculated. Letitia James, already a legally trained professional, submitted her petition without an attorney — sparing any bar-admitted lawyer the risk of attaching their name to what now looks like a fraud on the court. Public filings indicate the Surrogate’s Court never asked for a death certificate, allowing Tish to walk through the door unchallenged. She secured Letters of Administration and quietly took control of her father’s estate — including the very house tied to the fraudulent Kadilac mortgage.
This stands in sharp contrast to her handling of her mother’s estate in 2010. That filing included everything you’d expect: a death certificate, funeral documents, notices to heirs. It was by the book. Which raises the obvious question: Why was her father’s death handled like a back-alley secret while her mother’s was conducted like a lawful civic duty?
If Robert James was alive in 1999, Letitia James committed mortgage fraud, estate fraud, and perjury. If he wasn’t, the question remains: Where is the death certificate?
