How Times Have Changed – Germany Calls Out Israel for Offensive in Gaza

How times have changed – Germany calls out Israel for offensive in Gaza.

In World War II Germany took over Europe and millions died as a result.  Millions of Russians, Chinese, Germans and many more died in the war.

The most egregious acts of the war were when the Nazis murdered an estimated 6 million Jews during World War II.

This October, Hamas invaded Israel and killed some 1,200 Jews and kidnapped another 2-300 innocents.  Israel retaliated with a massive campaign on Gaza.

Many in the press and elsewhere have condemned Israel for its invasion into Gaza and attacks on Hamas.

The BBC reports that Germany’s leader is critical of Israel’s moves since over a thousand of its citizens died at the hands of Hamas terrorists.

Aid has trickled into Gaza slowly since the start of the war, which began after Hamas gunmen attacked southern Israel on 7 October, killing about 1,200 people and seizing 253 hostages.

Since then, more than 31,400 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.

Speaking to reporters ahead of a visit to the Middle East, Mr Scholz described the situation in Gaza as “difficult”, adding that it is “necessary for aid to reach Gaza on a larger scale now”.

He said he will be bringing up the subject during talks with his counterparts in the region.

Mr Scholz went on to stress that Germany is concerned about military developments in Rafah, which is on the border with Egypt.

(Note that the numbers coming from Hamas are very suspect and likely severely overstated.)

Here is the map shared by the BBC:

Germany’s leader is encouraging Israel to not take areas in Gaza and allow Hamas to remain in the region.  This is today’s world.
