HOLD ON A MINUTE: President Trump Nominates Mike Waltz for United Nations Ambassador

Hold it – hold everything – Mike Waltz is nominated for new Ambassador to the United Nations. 

In a matter of minutes, NSA Mike Waltz went from his position overseeing the NSA to the Ambassador of the United Nations.

We reported moments ago that Waltz was being terminated at NSA.

Then just like that, President Trump nominated Waltz as the new Ambassador to the UN.

President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he is nominating National Security Advisor Mike Waltz to be his ambassador to the United Nations after reports that the top official would be departing his role this week.

Trump also wrote that in Waltz’s absence from his national security role, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as interim National Security Advisor. Ahead of Trump’s post, it was reported that Waltz would soon depart as National Security Advisor after the president and top aides had grown frustrated with his tenure.

It is definitely difficult to keep up with the news these days under President Trump.
