Gavin Newsom Under Fire Amidst Palisades Fire Land Grab & Fall Out
On January 7th 2025, the devastating Palisades and Eaton fires reigned down over LA county. Burning for 24 days with 16,000 structures lost, and 37,000 acres up in smoke, residents are outraged at the new bill passed by the California legislature, SB 549. They are now taking aim at Gavin Newsom after he reassured residents they would be protected in the rebuild.
The bill is supposedly on hold after 23,000 residents rose up and pointed out concerns in the bill that would allow LA county to buy property for a “fair price” to then turn into low income housing. The county would essentially have control over the rebuild, not the residents.
Newsom has faced much criticism over his role and support of the passing of the SB 549, going so far as to defend himself on Twitter, “The claim that the Governor wants to bulldoze fire victims’ neighborhoods and replace them with ‘affordable housing’ is absurd…”. Many residents have taken to social media, saying this feels like a land grab, which building “Low Income Housing” has been a popular tactic as of late to steal land out from under rightful property owners, across the nation.
In a related event, the $100 Million dollar fundraising concert “Fire Aid” was held in January, Gavin Newsom’s non-profit (that his wife is the Honorary Chair of) received a grant from the concert.
As of now, virtually all the money raised has been distributed to Pennsylvania based nonprofit, The Anneburg Foundation, who then dispersed the funds via grants to other non-profits, including the California Governor’s “California Volunteers” non-profit, and not to residents themselves.

From a working farm and ranch in the Dust Bowl country of Southeast Colorado and the Oklahoma Panhandle, it’s the Ag way of life that has shaped everything about Clare Dunn’s music. From long hours driving tractors, combines, 18-wheeler trucks for harvest, and hauling water to cattle alone, from an early age, Clare’s childhood music heroes were Waylon Jennings, Tom Petty, Dwight Yoakam, The Rolling Stones, Merle Haggard, George Strait, Eagles, Tina Turner, and many more. An artist that puts everything into their music she writes, produces and plays multiple instruments in her music. She defines her mission as to always do what’s best for the song, all the time, no matter what. The outlaw spirit of rugged artist freedom is alive and well in her music, blending the sounds of her heroes into that of her own. A hell of an artist to see live, often ending her shows in an encore inspiring version of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock N Roll” , Clare carries the weight of both Jimmy Page and Robert Plant to give you a glimpse. California voters are reaping what they sowed. They elected this communist clown. Had a chance to recall him but refused to do so. Now they’re stuck with him and his decisions. Are people supposed to feel sorry for voters who did that? They did this to THEMSELVES!
