Things like this weren’t supposed to happen in the USA. They only happened in communist nations, right?
The New York Post reported on Thursday on the story of another American destroyed by the DOJ:
Emmy-winning soap star Martha Byrne is in the midst of her most challenging role yet — starring in a real-life spy drama.
A seemingly routine job taken by her husband, former NYPD cop Michael McMahon, 57, unraveled into an almost 10-year nightmare, resulting in him becoming the first private investigator convicted of spying for the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in the US.
In one scene which could have been plucked from Hollywood thriller, a dozen FBI agents surrounded their New Jersey home in the fall of 2020…
…Byrne’s continuing fight to exonerate McMahon is told in her new book, “In the Interest of Justice: One Woman’s Fight Against a Weaponized Justice Department to Save Her Husband.”
“You don’t have to have the largest army to conquer the enemy, just the smartest,” she writes.
Armed with her computer and cell phone, Byrne, 55, has become an expert on Operation Fox Hunt — the Chinese government’s scheme to track down and prosecute dissidents in foreign countries, mostly without the cooperation of their sovereign governments.
The Post previously revealed a Chinese police station in Lower Manhattan, where officials allegedly often work with local private investigators to nab Chinese nationals, usually on charges from the motherland.
McMahon was convicted of stalking a New Jersey couple who are Chinese expatriates. He maintains he had no knowledge he had been working on behalf of the PRC.
One individual who believes McMahon is innocent is Allison Guerriero. Ms. Guerriero shared her thoughts on this case on Substack.
Guerriero is uniquely qualified to know about DOJ corruption. She is Charles McGonigal’s former girlfriend and reported Mr. McGonigal to federal law enforcement for his crimes. She believes her efforts helped put McGonigal behind bars.
The damage was done and the public post I made forced FBI and DOJ to now act after I had been attempting for three years to collect evidence of Mr. McGonigal and his FBI colleagues – both current and former – engaged in questionable conduct that I suspected would bring harm to our national security and innocent American citizens. I didn’t mind causing embarrassment to myself. It was my duty as a loyal American to protect my country.
That was in 2019. I removed the post from Twitter and prayed for two more years until my prayers were finally answered and I received a Grand Jury (GJ) subpoena regarding Mr. McGonigal’s relationships with certain individuals in their reluctant and meager attempt to investigate him in the District of the District of Columbia (DDC) in November or 2021. Nearly a year later no arrests had been made and I decided to leak that GJ subpoena to the media for Business Insider to publish. As a result Mr. McGonigal was indicted, arrested, prosecuted, and convicted for his felonies. He was sentenced in two different federal Court venues after entering into a plea agreement with prosecutors.
She shares that McGonigal was very familiar with Mr. McMahon’s case and has no doubts McMahon is innocent:
…committed crimes against the United States of America for which he was convicted in not one but two different federal courts. He was the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of FBI’s New York Field Office (NYFO) who initiated and oversaw “Operation Fox Hunt” in which Mr. McMahon was wrongfully arrested and subsequently convicted by the Biden Justice Department. I have no doubt that Mr. McMahon is INNOCENT. Unfortunately he was found guilty in Federal Court due to malfeasance, intentional corruption, and incompetence at the hands of the United States Attorneys Office (USAO) and the FBI.
While Mr. McMahon was legally conducting a private investigation in New Jersey he became a victim of the same evil forces within our own government who wrought havoc for you, General Flynn, Ken Kurson, Roger Stone, Rudy Giuliani, George Papadopoulos, Pete Navarro and so many more lesser known people. I too have been victimized by those people myself and I am hopeful that my intimate insight of their behaviors will provide some value. Mr.
McMahon’s wrongful conviction is a travesty, not justice. Therefore, I feel compelled to share with you my observations of them immediately.
Ms. Guerriero has more than paid the price for exposing the corruption within the DOJ and FBI. She has faced physical and financial challenges nearly going bankrupt in the process of protecting herself from the might of the a DOJ and FBI who target individuals who dare expose their crimes.
She writes:
It was recently determined that SDNY prosecutors were in possession of exculpatory evidence which was seemingly withheld and crucial to Mr. McMahon’s defense. I believe that evidence would have proven Mr. McMahon’s undoubted innocence. I knew exactly who these people were and what they were capable of. Mr. McMahon never had a fair trial and the cards were stacked against him from the beginning. Mr. McMahon is not the criminal here – the FBI and DOJ are the criminals. Now, due to their actions, he is facing seven years in prison at his sentencing tomorrow. That is not justice. It is betrayal that all Americans should be outraged about.
Martha Byrne, Ms. Guerriero and many more want to see former NYPD cop Michael McMahon pardoned and not put in prison. They believe there is much more to this story that proves his innocence.
