The Envelope Is Not the Ballot
New Jersey exposed the failure. Sacramento County mailed me the illusion.

New Jersey just admitted that its motor vehicle system registered roughly 6,600 people who answered “no” when asked whether they were United States citizens.[1]
Not “maybe.” Not “I forgot.” Not “ask me later.”
No.
The governor says a software error registered them anyway. Fewer than 400 of those newly registered individuals reportedly voted, although investigators still must determine each person’s citizenship status when any ballot was cast.[1]
Apparently, the computer considered “no” more of a suggestion.
As that news broke, a trifold flyer from Sacramento County Voter Registration and Elections arrived in my mailbox. The county mailer explains how voters can track ballots, request replacements, and update the signature used to verify future ballots.[2]
Across one panel, in large, reassuring letters, it says:
“Your signature helps protect your vote.”[2]
Comforting.
Almost magical.
Then the flyer explains what actually happens:
“The signature on your ballot envelope is compared to the signature on your voter registration record.”[2]
And there it is.
The signature on the envelope is compared with another signature already stored in the same voter-registration system.
That may help authenticate the envelope.
It does not independently prove citizenship.
It does not prove the registration was lawfully created.
It does not prove the registered voter marked the ballot inside.
And it certainly does not prove what was inside the envelope.
The envelope is not the ballot.
California’s wrap-up verification
Nancy Pelosi once described a political public-relations tactic she called the “wrap-up smear.” Make an allegation. Get the press to publish it. Then point to the published story as proof that the allegation must be true.[3]
To be precise, Pelosi was accusing Republicans of using that tactic. But her explanation gives us the perfect analogy for California’s ballot system.
California has created its own bureaucratic version.
The government creates a voter-registration record.
The government mails a ballot because that record says the voter is eligible.
The county compares the signature on the envelope with the signature stored in that same record.
Then officials point to the match as proof that the ballot was authenticated.
That is not independent verification.
That is the database validating the envelope, followed by the envelope validating the database.
A tidy little circle.
Call it the wrap-up verification.
If the original registration is wrong, every step afterward can look perfectly organized while resting on the same bad record.
What the law actually says
California Elections Code section 3019 requires election officials to compare the signature on the ballot envelope with signatures contained in the voter’s registration record. The law begins with a presumption that the envelope signature belongs to the voter. It also says an exact match is not required. Similar characteristics may be sufficient.[4]
Again, that may authenticate the envelope against the record.
It does not independently verify the eligibility behind that record.
Then comes the point of no return.
The same law states:
“A ballot shall not be rejected for cause after the identification envelope has been opened.”[4]
Before the envelope is opened, the voter’s identity, registration record and sealed ballot remain connected.
After it is opened, the envelope stays behind and the ballot becomes anonymous.
That secrecy protects the voter.
It also means eligibility must be resolved before separation.
If officials later discover that the registration was invalid, they may cancel the registration. They may identify the returned envelope. They may investigate what happened.
But once the ballot has been separated and mixed into the count, which anonymous ballot belonged to that registration?
That may be impossible to determine.
Eligibility cannot be repaired after anonymity.
An envelope does not prove its contents
This is not some exotic election theory. It is basic document handling.
Certified mail may prove that an envelope was mailed and delivered.
It does not, by itself, prove exactly what was inside.
That is why California court proofs of service identify the specific papers placed in the envelope, who received them, where they were sent and when they were mailed. The delivery record helps establish delivery. The proof of service supplies evidence of the contents.[5]
The same principle applies to divorce papers, court notices, subpoenas and tax filings.
A receipt proves receipt of an envelope.
It does not read through the paper.
A ballot envelope is no different.
The envelope may show a voter’s name, address and signature.
It does not prove that the registration was valid, the voter was a citizen, the address was accurate or the registered voter personally completed the ballot inside.
The flyer creates a reassuring appearance of verification.
But it verifies the envelope against the existing record.
It does not independently verify the voter against the law.
That is the illusion.
California automatically mails the consequences
California’s Motor Voter program automatically registers eligible DMV customers unless they opt out. The Secretary of State says the DMV does not transmit information when an applicant indicates ineligibility, and that state law prohibits information from AB 60 applicants from being sent to the Secretary of State for voter registration.[6]
Fine.
New Jersey had eligibility rules too.
The system did not follow them.
California then mails a ballot to every active registered voter. For the November 2026 election, counties will begin mailing those ballots by October 5.[7]
So the pathway is simple:
DMV transaction. Active registration. Mailed ballot. Returned envelope. Anonymous vote.
If the registration gate fails at the beginning, the envelope review does not magically repair it at the end.
Even the dog made it through
In Orange County, a woman registered her dog, Maya, to vote. The Orange County District Attorney reported that a ballot cast in the dog’s name was counted in California’s 2021 gubernatorial recall election. A later 2022 primary ballot was rejected.[8]
No, one dog does not prove millions of fraudulent votes.
It proves something much simpler.
A registration that should never have existed generated a real ballot, and one ballot cast under that registration was counted.
The database recognized the record.
It did not ask for proof of citizenship.
It did not even ask for proof of species.
But the paperwork matched.
Gold star.
Meanwhile, I must prove my grandson lives here
Every year, I must provide reasonable evidence that my grandson is eligible to attend his public school.
I verify who he is and where he lives.
California law specifically permits school districts to require reasonable evidence that a student satisfies residency requirements. If the evidence appears false or unreliable, the district may investigate.[9]
No one calls that educational suppression.
The school verifies eligibility before providing a public education in that district.
Yet California can activate a voter registration, mail a federal ballot and rely on a signature tied to the same registration record.
Apparently, verifying my grandson’s address protects the taxpayers.
Verifying a federal voter threatens the Republic.
Sure.
New Jersey is the warning
My earlier reporting examined how California’s election infrastructure expanded under Alex Padilla, including Motor Voter, VoteCal, vote centers, ballot drop boxes and mass-mailed ballots. I also documented election-administration grants funded by Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan.[10]

This article is about the ballot.
New Jersey has now proved that a motor voter system can register people even after they answer that they are not citizens.
California uses automatic DMV registration.
California mails ballots to every active registered voter.
Sacramento County compares the envelope signature with a signature already stored in the registration record.
Then the envelope is opened, and the ballot becomes anonymous.
The envelope is not the ballot.
The signature is not citizenship.
The database cannot authenticate itself.
California must prove the registration was lawful before the ballot passes the point of no return.

Every 4 years from 1976 until 2012, I had taken election day off work in order to serve in some capacity… most often as a poll watcher for the Republican Party.
In 2008, I was at a local polling station in Los Angeles county when a woman came in and announced she was there to vote…whereupon she produced a card which had her name on it and said "This is your voter card" . The cards were produced and distributed by La Raza ( La Raza; literally translated as ‘The Race’ is a racist organization whose motto is “For the race everything outside the race nothing” which receives US tax dollars for among other activities ‘voter registration and assistance’). La Raza like ACORN has since changed their name to protect the guilty but both continue with their taxpayer funded interference
The woman's English wasn't good but there was an interpreter at the station and the story eventually came out.
The poll was in LA and the woman lived in Santa Barbra some 95 miles away.
She had received the card in the mail along with a card in English and Spanish telling her La Raza's choices for voting She had gotten up early on Election Day and although she was neither registered nor eligible to vote …she voted at her local precinct. She then climbed in her car and started driving… where she would stop and vote at every polling station she could find.
In California if someone shows up to vote you cannot deny them a ballot if you can't verify their registration they must receive a provisional ballot…
Provisional ballots are supposed to be set aside and uncounted until verified…but as a practical matter they all get dumped into the same pile as yours and mine and counted anyway
I don’t care a whit what her race was but I do care about her nationality which precluded her from LEGALLY voting.
We never knew for certain but this woman had voted 10-12 times over her 100
mile journey for La Raza's choice of Candidates and Initiatives…
No wonder they need our tax dollars…

I saw the same thing in my small town polling place, two people who did not speak English, a poll worker translated, they were about 65-70 yrs old, no ID at all, claimed they were from another town, no explanation how they got there from their hometown, the pollworker assisted them to vote

Back in Joe Stalin's time, in Russia you'd be on a train going from one city to another, and the election would happen ~ wherever you were they'd stop the train and the passengers would get off and go vote.
Of course, in Stalin's time elections really didn't count, but your best bet was to vote just so they wouldn't send you to a work camp in Siberia.
And multiply her by 10,000, just using La Raza's techinique.

President Trump is doing mass deportation – he is dealing with unlawful Sanctuary jurisdictions that the SCOTUS allows because of the 10th Amendment. Which in my opinion is a stretch as altering the Affordable Care Act by the SCOTUS where they do NOT have legislative authority to alter! The legislature allowed it, which is concerning as well.
These Sanctuary states are making it more dangerous to remove the infestation of illegal aliens in Blue DEMocRAT States. It doesn't stop INS, it just makes it more complicated.

Malicious dereliction is not a game- it's a crime of intention that must be prosecuted.
BTW, it is my understanding that signature verification systems, being automated, have a scale for sensitivity (or error tolerance) setting. Set to one extreme and the signatures must be pretty exact. Set to the other extreme and Mickey Mouse can be signed on every envelope and they will all get through. Guess which end of the scale is used by blue states.
Who is responsible for comparing the signatures? This is a farce and a joke.

so there are nearly 495,000 registered voters in Sacramento County. how do hese many signatures get "verified" betwen voter card and voter ballot? is there a prso whi holds each piece up to a light to verify a "match"? is there a laser-reaseer machine that checks each loop and twirl and capitalization to verify? in addition to the severe problem of WHO filled out the ballot is the WHO signed the envelope. a physical presence solves both problems which is why that is the method preferred by out forefathers!

The Democrats certainly shoot for that end ~ to have the 1 additional vote that takes their candidate over the next highest total number of ballots of any candidate for the office in the election.
So do Republicans. Just 1 additional vote and it's HOME BAY BEE.
Most Democrat nay sayers telling you cheating just doesn't happen enough to matter know better ~ it's 1 more vote than the next guy, or 1 more vote than half….. not 1 million votes.

So, how to fix this problem? They are experimenting with a complicated system in Alaska that presumes all ballots are honest but if no one gets more than half, everybody gets 1 more ballot ~ to chose somebody else for #2….so if #2 has more than half of that second vote, then we have a winner ~ it does, more or less, solve the 1 vote dilemma, but in reality it gives some folks 2 votes and some folks, effectively, only 1 vote.
A more effective way is to use the Party List Voting method popular in Northern Europe and Israel. A bit too complex to explain fully here, the political party puts up 100% of its candidates for every open job in a parliament/Congress/Assembly on a list. The voters then select which candidates they want from all the candidates advanced by all the parties. Some folks imagine this as a dog —- but for most voter it's just a larger ballot, however, if there's someone they like, they get to waste 1 of their votes on that person ~ in short it facilitates SPLIT TICKETING while creating 1 large district, and not 50 small districts.
This system was used in Indiana's 5 largest counties for many years ~ this also fostered the creation of MORE POLITICAL PARTIES.
The downside is you didn't have your own personal representative to complain to ~ you had a whole county load of representatives to lean on!
Paper ballots rather resembled newspaper sheets!
While this is an important step to take, and even more important one is TAKING AWAY AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP FROM THOSE THAT DO NOT ABIDE BY JUST THE OATH OF AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP, which at one point WE DID DO!

50 years ago when I voted absentee from college I had to get a notary to confirm my identity. Yep….a freakin' notary. Today….millions of ballots are mass-mailed with no real chain-of-custody associated with the process. Did I request a ballot? Am I eligible to vote (aka…a citizen)? Did I fill in the ballot? Did I mail it? The solution is simple….limit absentee ballots to only those who can prove an actual need. Prove citizenship for registration…both for new and existing (yes, you'll have to technically re-register…suck it up buttercup). ID at the polling station. ID to obtain an absentee ballot (see "notary" note above). One citizen…one vote. STOP THE FRAUD!
Ballot boxes are a bad idea. They exist only to allow fraud.

No one should ask for special privileges when it comes to voting. Everyone must follow the same simple instructions. There is no viable argument in a free country for being unable to perform civic duty because of the challenge.
CA wrote the book on how a state can leave the Union and become an independent communist nation. They do not recognize US federal laws. No federal election results from blue states should be allowed to contaminate the legitimate vote count contributed by red states. No federal funding should be administered until the blue states stop stealing, and cheating, every avenue they can find to intersect the rest of America.

Every single state that has mail in voting must be audited for illegals on voting rolls. These states will deny it but audits will find that as drivers license are given out to illegals, they are offered to complete a voter registration without requiring valid proof of citizenship. I asked once if I registered as an illegal, what would happen. The female worker at DMV stated ‘if I voted and got caught…I’d be in a lot of trouble’. lol… that’s it. That Washington’s state answer for allowing illegals to bite….

signature match is a joke as it is…The envelope AND ballot should have matching bar codes…Bar codes reveal nothing to a human about who you are…Mailed out ballots are fine..Return is not..Drop box only and cutoff at 8pm on election night..No exceptions …Scrub ALL the voter rolls immediately and make us ALL re register WITH proof of citizenship…That works for me

SO, I live in the mountains, Montana. Another summer of super rich, building mansions, removing mountainsides. Lots of those brown people working, along with being maids and groundskeepers. Consequently, theft from our mailboxes and package lockers continues to climb. OK, sorry, just background, BUT, just got a box in the local UPS store, for mail and packages. HAD TO SHOW 2 VALID FORMS OF ID!!!!! LOLOLOL!!!!!
So…New Jersey… you are not a citizen but you answered yes to the citizenship question, who catches your mistake? Is anyone checked on their answer? Maybe not everyone but enough to show there is enforcement and punishment for fraud? How many prosecutions were there?
