DNI Tulsi Gabbard Exposes Conspiracy Used By Congress To Impeach President Trump
IC Inspector General Atkinson aggressively advanced a so-called “whistleblower’s” narrative, using a witness who co-authored the 2017 Russia Hoax, that was used as the basis for Trump’s impeachment
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard releases never-before-seen documents exposing a coordinated effort by elements within the Intelligence Community (IC), including a former Inspector General (IG), to manufacture a conspiracy that was used as the basis to impeach President Trump in 2019.
- During his preliminary investigation into President Trump’s July 2019 phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, former IC IG Michael Atkinson did not follow standard IG procedures and relied upon politicized, manufactured narratives – only conducting interviews with four individuals: the Whistleblower, the Whistleblower’s friend who was a co-author of the January 2017 Russia Hoax Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) and close colleague of disgraced former FBI Agent Peter Strzok, and two character references who had zero firsthand knowledge of the July 2019 phone call.
- Despite a lack of any firsthand evidence, IC IG Atkinson proceeded to take actions to weaponize the Whistleblower process and exceed his statutory jurisdiction by ignoring Department of Justice guidance and relying on only second-hand testimony to ensure the whistleblower complaint was released to Congress, referred to the FBI, and leaked to the propaganda media.
- Then-House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) Chairman Adam Schiff and then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi used this false, second-hand narrative to create media intrigue and ultimately spark the basis to impeach President Trump in December of 2019.
“Deep state actors within the Intelligence Community concocted a false narrative that was used by Congress to usurp the will of the American people and impeach the duly-elected President of the United States,” said DNI Gabbard. “Inspector General Atkinson failed to uphold his responsibility to the American people, putting political motivations over the truth. And this, along with the politicization of the whistleblower process by a former CIA employee who was working hand in glove with Democrats in Congress, are egregious examples of the deep state playbook on how to weaponize the Intelligence Community. Exposing these tactics and showing how they undermine the fabric of our democratic republic furthers the critical cause of transparency and accountability and will help prevent future abuse of power.”

Today’s release includes investigative materials used by then-IC IG Atkinson (here) and a review of two transcripts from IC IG Atkinson’s closed-door testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (here and here), which were withheld from the House Judiciary Committee during the sham impeachment trial and kept locked in a safe until House Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford led the vote to release these transcripts on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
NO FIRSTHAND EVIDENCE: The Intelligence Community Inspector General’s preliminary “investigation” into the whistleblower complaint relied on politicized actors and second-hand evidence. Newly declassified documents expose how IC IG Atkinson relied upon second-hand information from the self-declared “Democrat” whistleblower and two biased witnesses to justify his determination that the whistleblower compliant was of “urgent concern,” “appears credible,” and must be reported to Congress. IC IG Atkinson also ignored concerns by the whistleblower’s supervisor about a rushed complaint.
- The Whistleblower confirms he/she had no firsthand knowledge of President Trump’s call with Ukrainian President Zelensky.
- In an initial form submitted by the Whistleblower, he/she claimed, “I do not have direct knowledge of private comments or communications by the President.”
- New witness interviews released today show that IC IG Atkinson’s public claim that “other information obtained during [his] preliminary review…supports the complainant’s allegation” was false and hid the fact that neither the Whistleblower’s nor the key witness’ allegations concerning the President’s phone call were informed by direct, firsthand knowledge.
- WITNESS 2 admitted that upon reading the transcript of the call he/she “would not have been able to get from ‘point A to Z’ the way the Whistleblower did” and described that he/she lacked the “granular detail” that the Whistleblower had to justify filing the complaint.”
- WITNESS 2 admitted that he/she had to “read between the lines” of what was being said, and that his/her perception of quid pro quo “became clear” only “in hindsight.”
- The Whistleblower’s superior, a senior officer in the National Intelligence Council (NIC), told IC Inspector General investigators that he/she, “did not like how the [Whistleblower] handled the filing of the report,” saying that he/she felt that he/she was “looped in right at the time of the crash.”
- IC IG Atkinson’s 14-day preliminary investigation was intended to assess apparent credibility, but instead became the basis of a flawed, mischaracterized account that House Democrats peddled to launch a sham impeachment, even though the IC IG never conducted a formal or complete investigation.
- In his own words, IC IG Atkinson recognizes that his conclusions were based on a “preliminary investigation,” noting that “I haven’t done an investigation to determine whether they actually, in fact, took place…that all of the alleged actions actually took place.”
ANTI-TRUMP RUSSIA HOAX CO-AUTHOR AS KEY WITNESS: IC IG Atkinson relied on testimony from a co-author of the 2017 Russia Hoax ICA to support the Whistleblower’s allegations that there was some form of wrongdoing by President Trump. Last year, DNI Gabbard revealed evidence that President Obama directed the creation of the January 2017 Russia Hoax ICA. This served as the basis for what was essentially a years-long coup against the duly-elected President of the United States, subverting the will of the American people and attempting to delegitimize Donald Trump’s presidency.
- WITNESS 2 – who was one of the key sources for the Whistleblower ahead of filing a complaint – admits in a witness interview to being a “co-author of the 2017 ICA” which used manufactured and manipulated intelligence to create the false narrative that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to the benefit of President Trump.
- WITNESS 2 also admitted to having worked alongside now-disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok who inserted political bias into FBI investigations about President Trump based on the manufactured Russia Hoax.
- WITNESS 2 further exposed political bias when explaining that he/she “routinely deals with issues on a daily basis that are contrary to [his/ her] personal beliefs,” and “stated that [he/she] is disappointed everyday by policy decisions and statements made by political figures.”
WHISTLEBLOWER’S PARTISAN BIAS, LIES CONFIRMED: The Whistleblower admitted he/she lied to the Inspector General about speaking to Democrats in Congress ahead of submitting allegations of wrongdoing by President Trump to the IC Inspector General. While media widely reported on this detail in 2019, the pre-complaint meeting with Congress has never before been confirmed by the Whistleblower.
- In October 2019, after the media began to report that the Whistleblower had spoken with Congress ahead of submitting the “Disclosure of Urgent Concern Form,” the Whistleblower called the IC IG to admit that he/she had, in fact, spoken with Congress.
- IC IG Atkinson admits in newly-declassified testimony that his investigative team “did ask the complainant who else knew about the disclosure” and the complainant withheld from the investigative team, within the 14-day window, that he/she alerted HPSCI Democratic staff.
- Whistleblower interviews reveal the political biases of the Whistleblower, in his/her own words:
- The Whistleblower states he/she is a “registered democrat.”
- The Whistleblower claims to have “worked closely with Vice President Biden…travelled with Biden to Ukraine and was part of conversations where LUTSENKO corruption was discussed.”
- The Whistleblower also claims to have become “the target of right-wing bloggers…and conspiracy theorists.”
- Yet, IC IG Atkinson ignored this and insisted during his testimony to HPSCI, “I also want to make it clear that I never considered the whistleblower to be politically biased.”
- Despite public reports that the Whistleblower worked with Vice President Biden on Ukraine matters, inquiries into the Whistleblower’s bias and motive were blocked during the 2020 impeachment trial.
IC INSPECTOR GENERAL WEAPONIZED THE WHISTLEBLOWER PROCESS: Newly declassified documents confirm that IC IG Atkinson failed to conduct basic due diligence and willfully exceeded his statutory jurisdiction to mischaracterize the President’s phone call with Zelensky as an “urgent concern” to Congress.
- From Day 1, IC IG Atkinson knew that a transcript of President Trump’s call existed. And yet, he never, throughout the entire preliminary investigation, requested access to it.
- IC IG Atkinson sent a criminal referral to the DOJ on this matter, despite only relying on second-hand knowledge to support his claims.
- The DOJ later assessed the allegations raised by the Whistleblower and IC IG and found no basis for a criminal case, concluding that based on the facts and applicable law, there was “no campaign finance violation” and “no further action was warranted.”
- After the DOJ reviewed the whistleblower complaint and determined there was “no urgent concern,” IC IG Atkinson ignored their determination and proceeded to transmit this faulty whistleblower complaint to Congress without completing a fulsome investigation, despite the allegations being made based on second-hand information.
- On September 3, the DOJ provided Office of Legal Counsel guidance to IC IG Atkinson that the complaint did not rise to the level of “urgent concern” because the alleged conduct does not relate to “the funding, administration, or operation of an intelligence activity” under the authority of the Director of National Intelligence. As a result, the statute does not require the Director to transmit the complaint to the congressional intelligence committees.
- On September 9, the IC IG ignored this guidance and the Acting Director of National Intelligence to pen a letter to inform the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of the existence of the “urgent concern” complaint.
- As was reported at the time, IC OIG altered the whistleblower form within months of the July 2019 phone call to no longer require firsthand knowledge as a prerequisite for reporting complaints.
- IC IG Atkinson sought unprecedented assistance from other Inspectors Generals to carry on this investigation “if [he] was stopped, [he] wanted to see whether other inspectors general could proceed.” In particular, he contacted the IGs at the Departments of State, Justice, and Defense.

It depends upon how a pardon is given, or written. The preemptive pardons the former president’s autopen signed have dates on them. Anything since the start date and before the end date can’t be charged or tried. Subjects outside those dates possibly could be, and will be tested this summer.
The recipient can’t claim their 5th amendment right if asked to testify before congress. They can’t refuse to testify either. Many of those pardoned are already scheduled to be called before a House Committee this year.

Right — The Russia thing was just a huge hoax. Trump has nothing to do with Russia. Except that:
i) The "Business Man"
1) In 1986 Soviet ambassador Yuri Dubinin met Trump in New York and invited him to discuss a building in Moscow.
2) In July 1987 Trump visited Moscow and stayed at the National Hotel, in the Lenin Suite (which certainly would have been bugged). He mentions this in The Art of the Deal, that the Soviets were eager for him to build a hotel there.
3) Trump came back from that 1987 trip to Moscow and spent $100,000 on full-page ads in three major US newspapers urging America to abandon its allies in Europe and Asia, which was a long-standing goal of Soviet (now Russian) foreign policy.
4) Trump then went to New Hampshire a month later and did a campaign rally to see if there was enough support for him to run for President.
5) US intelligence officers reported that the 1987 ad campaign for president led to a champagne-laced celebration in Moscow, with Russian intelligence calling it one of their most successful infiltration/influence campaigns in decades.
6) In 1988 Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev visited NYC to meet with the UN and Presidents Reagan and Bush, with a special stop at Trump Tower for a private meal just with the Trumps.
7) In 1989 Trump publicly floated an interest in buying American Airlines. He was never taken seriously, mostly because he refused to reveal his secret (Russian) lender in the deal.
8) In 1995 Russian gangster Vyacheslav Ivankov was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of extortion, fraud, and illegally entering the country. Ivankov had a luxury condo in Trump Tower and a personal phone book containing a working number for the Trump Organization's Trump Tower Residence, and a Trump Organization office fax machine.
9) Due to many bankruptcies and failures in the 90s the Trump Org could no longer borrow from American banks, so in the wake of the 08 crash Trump's sons admitted that they got most of their funding from Russia. Between 2007-2016 buyers tied to Russia made 86 cash purchases at Trump properties.
(Trump was $4 billion in debt after his Atlantic City casinos went bankrupt. Then foreign money began flowing in through Bayrock. Bayrock was run by two investors: Tevfik Arif, a Kazakhstan-born former Soviet official who drew on bottomless sources of money from the former Soviet republic; and Felix Sater, a Russian-born businessman who had pleaded guilty in the 1990s to a huge stock-fraud scheme involving the Russian mafia. Bayrock partnered with Trump in 2005 and poured money into the Trump organization under the legal guise of licensing his name and property management.)
10) In July 2008 Trump sold a Palm Beach mansion to Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev for $95 million — well over twice its appraised value. The home was never occupied and was demolished in 2016.
(Later during the 2016 Presidential campaign, for reasons no one can sufficiently explain, Trump's plane was shadowed by Rybolovlev's plane at nearly every stop on the campaign trail, touching down within hours of each other at every airport. Yet both men denied ever meeting each other, insisting that the synchronized flight patterns was just a huge coincidence)
11) In 2013 Preet Bharara, US Attorney for SDNY, announced charges against a massive Russian organized crime ring operating out of Trump tower.
12) Later in the year Trump arranged and hosted the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow. Some of the details of this event were later documented in the Steele Dossier. One of the fugitives from the Bharara indictment, Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov, was a guest of honor.
13) In Oct 2015 Trump signed a letter of intent with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to build Trump Tower Moscow and kept it concealed from the American public during his Presidential campaign. Construction on the tower was never even started much less never completed, and it seems likely that Putin didn't have any intention of building it and was just using it as a carrot to dangle in front of Trump.
ii) Presidential Campaign
14) Trump announced his candidacy for President on June 16, 2015. Almost immediately European intelligence agencies picked up evidence of communications between the Russian government and people in Trump's orbit.
15) In October that year The CIA received intelligence from one of the Baltic states that intercepted audio recordings of Russians discussing funneling money to the Trump campaign.
16) Trump hired Paul Manafort, Carter Page, George Papadopoulos, Mike Flynn, Rudy Giuliani, Michael Cohen, Rick Gates, Felix Sater, Alex van der Zwaan, Boris Epshteyn, Roger Stone, and Dimitri Simes to run various aspects of his campaign. All of them were Russian agents, Russian assets, or had Russian connections. Manafort, Papadopoloulos, Gates, Flynn, and Stone were all indicted and convicted of crimes relating to the Russia investigation. Cohen was also convicted but for unrelated reasons.
17) Carter Page was already under surveillance by the FBI who opened a FISA warrant on him in 2014 for being an unregistered Russian agent. This FISA would lead to the FBI's Crossfire Hurricane counterintelligence investigation when he was hired by the Trump campaign as foreign policy advisor on March 21 2016.
18) Paul Manafort was hired as Trump's campaign manager, a guy who:
– Took 66 million from Russian intelligence services via Putin-friendly oligarchs.
– Helped Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska install puppet Viktor Yanukovich as the leader of Ukraine in 2010.
– Was paid $1 million a year to help the corrupt dictator Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) solidify his relationship with Moscow.
– Forced the Republicans to remove references in their platform to defending Ukrainian democracy.
– Gave Russian intelligence agent Konstantin Kilimnik top-secret insider campaign information about voters in 6 swing states so they could run a micro-targeted Facebook campaign to help Trump.
– Offered to run the campaign for free because he'd been well-compensated by Russian intelligence services.
– Was arrested, tried, and convicted of tax evasion. He was later pardoned by Trump.
19) On April 27 2016 Trump made his "America First" speech at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC, detailing a foreign policy plan that was very friendly to Russia. The event was arranged by Dimitri Simes and sponsored by the pro-Russian think tank "Center for National Interest" and in attendance was Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. He would later meet with Trump, Jared Kushner, and Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions in a private meeting.
(During his confirmation hearing for Attorney General, Jeff Sessions lied to Congress that he had not met with any Russian officials during the campaign. Because of this he recused himself from the Russia investigation, a move that angered Trump and led to his firing).
20) Trump kept insisting during the campaign that we should "get along with Russia". That it would be a great thing for America. In the post-Cold War era Russia still considers the United States its greatest adversary. While Trump is adamant about America being friends with Russia, Russia has no interest in being friends with America and is actively working toward undermining and destroying America's influence in Europe.
21) June 9 2016: The infamous Trump Tower meeting between Russian lawyer Nataliya Veselnetskaya and Jared Kushner, Don Jr, and Paul Manafort. Trump denied any knowledge of this meeting despite it occurring in his own residence and involving the three most important people in his campaign, two of them family relations.
22) A month later cybersecurity services detected a pattern of online traffic between two computer servers belonging to Alfa Bank in Moscow and the Trump Organization in Trump Tower, corresponding with major campaign events and always during office hours in either city, suggesting human communication rather than bots. After news of this broke, the server in Trump Tower immediately shut down.
23) In Aug 2016 Belarussian escort Anastasia Yashukevich recorded Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska on his yacht describing a plot to interfere in the 2016 election. There is video of this that Moscow fought to have removed from YouTube. Yashukevich wrote a letter to American authorities in 2019 claiming she had 16 hours worth of audio recording. Unfortunately she was in a Thai jail cell at the time (arrested for prostitution) and was eventually released back into Russian custody, where after a few days absence she resurfaced, recanted all her claims in a press conference, and then disappeared.
24) Russian hacking collective Guccifer 2.0 hacked the DNC, obtaining sensitive voter profile data, and then ran a Facebook operation targeting 26 million Americans in 6 swing states, helping Trump win those states and the Electoral College by a collective 77,000 votes.
25) Back in March 2016 Russia had successfully hacked the emails of John Podesta, chairman of Hillary's 2016 campaign, on behalf of Trump. They sat on these emails for months and then suddenly publicized them through Wikileaks on October 7, mere hours after the infamous Access Hollywood tape broke, as an October Surprise counter-narrative.
26) 11 days before the election FBI Director James Comey announced that the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails was being re-opened due to newly received information from a fake document created by Russian intelligence and circulated to American media via the Trump campaign. Many observers point to this as the event that cost her the election.
27) The Russians have, publicly and loudly and proudly, claimed the 2016 election of Donald Trump as their greatest foreign policy success in decades. They still celebrate this stunning achievement today.
iii) Presidency
28) After failing several security clearances due to close connections with adversaries of the United States, Jared Kushner was rammed through by Trump into becoming Senior Advisor to the President under the extreme objections of every department in the Pentagon. Kushner then tried to set up a secret back channel with Russia that would evade detection from US intelligence agencies.
29) When that didn't work, Erik Prince — the founder of the private military company Blackwater and brother of Trump's Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos — traveled to the Seychelles in Dec 2016 and met with Russian officials to attempt to establish another back channel.
30) Trump appointed unregistered Russian agent Mike Flynn as National Security Advisor. It sparked a nigh-universal revolt among the intelligence community and after 22 days of media turmoil Trump was forced to ask Flynn to resign.
31) Trump also appointed former Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State. Back in 2013 Tillerson had won a "Russian Order of Friendship" award for his cooperation with Russia in the oil business. Trump's initial nominee was Mitt Romney, who back in 2012 in a debate with Barrack Obama had declared Russia the greatest threat to the United States. Moscow had vetoed Trump's selection.
32) In early 2017 Congress passed sanctions with vetoproof supermajorities to retaliate against Russia's election attack. Trump lobbied to remove or weaken them, then stalled for four days before being forced to sign the bill when he knew he couldn't block it. After it passed, Trump refused to enforce the sanctions as directed.
33) Six weeks after inauguration Trump fired Preet Bharara for investigating the Russian crime ring operating out of Trump Tower. Two months later on May 9 Trump fired FBI Director James Comey for investigating Russia's involvement in the 2016 election.
34) A day later Trump invited Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and foreign minister Sergey Lavrov to a covert meeting in the Oval Office. After bragging to them that he had fired Comey, Trump then gave them top-secret information on a spy Russia asked about. That spy was then burned.
35) Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller was contracted to investigate all this, the incomplete results of which (before William Barr was hired as AG and ordered by Trump to shut it down) were:
– Russian interference in the 2016 election was sweeping and systemic.
– Indictments against 37 individuals including six Trump advisers and 26 Russian nationals, including seven guilty pleas or convictions, and compelling evidence that Trump himself had stonewalled or lied to investigators and obstructed justice on multiple occasions.
– 14 criminal referrals to the Justice Department, where William Barr (who'd helped President George HW Bush cover up the Iran/Contra Scandal) ignored them and let them lapse.
– Five specific examples of Trump criminally obstructing justice in ways that could be easily prosecuted.
36) In Mar 2018 Putin won re-election in what was most certainly a rigged vote, Trump was the first to call and congratulate him despite being handed a card before the call that said: "Do not congratulate." The New York Post wrote an article about the call, quoting Putin praising Trump as a "good listener". Trump was so enamored with the article that he wrote a complimentary letter to Putin, and asked National Security Advisor HR McMaster to send it with a copy of the article to the Kremlin. McMaster did not send the letter, citing that it would look bad politically. Putin had just directed an assassination on British soil and it would reinforce the narrative that Trump was in the Kremlin's pocket.
37) Trump spent the rest of the midterm attempting to set up a meeting with Putin at the White House. This meeting never actualized though not because of Congress or the media or any other obstruction. Putin is a paranoid dictator who doesn't fly and rarely leaves his home country, and if so only to friendly neighboring countries.
38) Trump instead met with Putin at the Russia-USA summit in Helsinki in July 2018. At the summit he openly praised and deferred to Putin while trash talking American intelligence agencies. He also floated the idea of a friendly exchange/extradition of people that were of interest to each other's countries. Trump called it an "incredible offer". The Senate voted 98-0 on a resolution condemning the idea.
39) A month later on Aug 8 Senator Rand Paul made a private trip to Russia to hand-deliver a "letter" (ie: possibly stolen sealed documents) to Putin's intelligence services.
40) In Jan 2019 Trump lifted sanctions on Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, a mobster who worked with Russian intelligence (and Paul Manafort) to flip and/or install pro-Russian puppets in other countries, including Viktor Yanukovich in Ukraine and FBI counterintelligence agent Charles McGonigal (who was arrested in 2023 for conspiracy and money laundering).
41) In May 2019 Rudy Giuliani hired Russian ex-pats Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman to help shake down Ukraine in a not-well-thought-out scheme involving corrupt Russian oligarch Dmytro Firtash that would frame Democrat candidate Joe Biden while also politically destabilize Ukraine in preparation for the forthcoming Russian invasion. When these efforts were thwarted by US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, Trump fired her.
42) Two months later Trump made his infamous quid pro quo phone call to new Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, attempting to blackmail him into framing Joe Biden in exchange for military aid. Zelensky — who ran his own Presidential campaign on a non-corruption platform and was familiar with Russian-style coercion and corruption tactics — did not acquiesce to Trump's chicanery. This led to Trump's first impeachment.
43) It should be noted that before these activities the Trump Administration had practically zero interest in Ukraine or its politics. The only other major power with a high interest in Ukraine was Russia. Trump therefore developed an interest in Ukraine because Putin had an interest in Ukraine. America's foreign policy toward Ukraine during the Trump Administration was identical to Russia's (and before Ukraine it was Montenegro, a country Trump couldn't find on a map but nevertheless had some harsh opinions about that were word-for-word Russian talking points).
44) Over the course of his term Trump had at least 16 private phone conversations with Putin for which the records no longer exist. But it was easy to tell when he had one of these calls because afterward he would immediately and inexplicably try to gather support for, generate interest in, or promote a seemingly random pro-Russia plank. Or he would attempt to obtain information of interest to Russian intelligence. He would post on social media or host a press conference to talk about how we should allow Russia back into the G7, or tell France or other European countries to leave the EU, or lift sanctions on individual oligarchs or Russia itself, or exit and/or break apart NATO, or remove all US troops from Germany and other NATO countries, or block military aid to Ukraine, or even purchase Greenland from Denmark (and offer it to Russia). All these conspicuously specific policies benefit only Russia and no other country.
45) An example of one of these secret meetings occurred on July 31, 2019. All that is known is that Trump spoke with Putin that day, and we know this only because the call was announced by the Kremlin first. When the media asked about it, the White House reported that they discussed trade, wildfires in Siberia, and other innocuous things. Three days later Trump issued a request to the CIA for a list of top US spies.
(In 2021 the CIA disclosed an unusually high number of agents in the field being captured, compromised, burned, flipped, or murdered. During the search at Mar-a-Lago the FBI recovered documents with lists of US informants on them)
46) During the height of the Covid pandemic in 2020, while most countries were experiencing shortfalls of PPE equipment and supplies, Trump deliberately withheld vital medical resources from so-called liberal blue states. Instead he quietly shipped 3.5 million hospital-grade testing machines to Russia, depriving Americans of critical life-saving tools.
47) Later during the 2020 election campaign Russia again came to Trump's aid by hacking Biden's family members, planting suggestive information that they were corrupt. This tactic is nearly identical to Russia's smear campaign against Yulia Tymoshenko of Ukraine in 2010, who lost to pro-Putin puppet Viktor Yanukovich due to vague allegations of corruption.
48) Russian intelligence officers used social media to amplify Trump's claims that the election was stolen, culminating in the Jan 6 insurrection by Trump supporters who sought the assassination of Vice President Mike Pence and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. The coup failed and Trump was impeached for the second time.
iv) Post-Presidency
49) On his way out the door Trump pardoned his campaign cronies Manafort, Flynn, Stone, and van der Zwaan, who were all in prison for crimes stemming from Mueller's Russia investigation.
50) Trump also pardoned lobbyists John Tate and Jesse Benton who were originally convicted of bribery during the 2012 Presidential campaign of Ron Paul. Less than a year later Benton was arrested again, this time for laundering Russian money into Trump's 2016 campaign. Tate was later hired by Trump for his 2024 campaign.
51) Trump also pardoned Paul Erickson for unrelated white collar crimes although Erickson (and the NRA, and half of the GOP) had been associating with Russian honeypot spy Maria Butina at the time.
52) A binder containing highly classified information related to Russian election interference went suddenly missing two days before Trump left office. The missing binder has no relation to the classified documents Trump stole and hid at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
53) When Bill Barr and John Durham took multiple taxpayer-funded luxury trips to Italy to interrogate that country's government about possible FBI wrongdoing in the Hurricane Crossfire investigation of Trump and Russia, they instead discovered evidence of specific "financial crimes" committed by Trump himself that were so serious they aborted the trip and Barr quietly closed the matter.
54) In Feb 2021 Trump announced the creation of a new public corporation — Trump Media & Technology Group — and a year later released Truth Social, a competitor to Twitter. While waiting for a reverse-merger with SPAC Digital World Acquisition Corp (that wouldn't finalize until Mar 2024), Trump Media took on substantial loans from ES Family Trust, a shell company for Russian businessman Anton Postolnikov, which operated out of Paxum Bank on the Caribbean island of Dominica. Postolnikov is under several criminal investigations by the FBI and DHS and cannot do business in the United States.
55) Later in the year news broke that for years Russian military intelligence had been offering bounties to the Taliban and other Islamist militants to kill American troops in Afghanistan. The Trump Administration knew of this at least as far back as March 2019, and while the White House National Security Council offered several options in response, Trump's decision was to do nothing about it.
56) In his 2021 book "American Kompromat", journalist Craig Unger cited ex-KGB officer Yuri Shvets who admitted that the Russians have been cultivating Trump as an asset for 40 years.
57) In Nov 2023 Ukrainian authorities arrested politicians Oleksandr Dubinsky and Andrii Derkach along with former prosecutor Kostyantyn Kulyk for treason, for colluding with Russian intelligence agencies to aid Rudy Giuliani in framing Joe Biden and his son back in 2019.
58) Four months later FBI informant and Russian intelligence agent Alexander Smirnov was arrested for making false statements and creating a fictitious record involving the Bidens and a Ukrainian energy company. The disgraced Smirnov was the key witness in the Republican narrative to portray the Bidens as a "crime family".
59) In Feb 2024 Trump unveiled a line of limited edition gold sneakers at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia. He also auctioned off a special autographed pair of the shoes. The winner, with a $9000 bid, was Russian businessman and grey market watch dealer Roman Scharf.
60) When Trump lost his second defamation lawsuit to E Jean Carroll in March 2024 and was compelled by the State of New York to pay her $91 million, he sought the financial backing of insurance corp Chubb International to post a bond.
