Caitlin Clark Crushes Records Creating Massive Exposure to Women’s Basketball Yet Current WNBA Players Appear Bitter

Is Caitlin Clark the best women’s basketball player ever?  Many of those who have had stellar careers don’t think so. Are they jealous?

Cailin Clark has set so many records in her career, no one can list them all.

So far this season, she has scored 1,204 points and recorded 341 assists. Both rank first in the NCAA, and the scoring mark ranks first in women’s Division I history. Clark also became the all-time career scoring leader (men’s or women’s) during Iowa’s final regular-season game. She has 3,921 points in her career heading into Sunday’s championship game against South Carolina.

Given that Clark is known for her logo 3, it should come as little surprise that the Hawkeye owns both the women’s career Division I 3-point record (543) and the overall single-season Division I 3-point record (196). Clark owns a plethora of other NCAA Tournament, Big Ten and Iowa records.

The bigger stat on Clark is how she changed the game.  People who never were women’s basketball fans started following her.  She sets records at venues across the country.  Every home game this year was sold out.  We never saw this before Clark.

Her shots from way out are fantastic and her assists are as spectacular.  She’s a two time women’s player of the year and she’s in her second NCAA women’s championship game.  She’s won four Big Ten championships (during the season as a freshman and three tournament championships the past three years).  We’ve never seen anything like her which is why she is bringing people to the game like never before.

Saturday’s Iowa open practice was sold out.

The Las Vegas team in the WNBA has changed to a larger venue for the game with Indianapolis this summer where Clark is expected to go.  She hasn’t even been drafted yet.

But current WBNA stars appear jealous.  They can’t see that Clark is building up their exposure to new fans and eventually higher salaries.

One superstar who played with 12 WNBA players while at UConn winning four championships believes that Clark definitely has to win a National Championship to be considered one of the greats.

Clark has lifted her entire team up but it is doubtful any will make the WNBA.  Clark carriers her team and makes them all better, not bitter.

This is as expected.  Human nature I guess.

We’ll see how Iowa does with the stacked South Carolina team on Sunday.  It’s her last game with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
