Florida Bill Being Proposed by Senator Ingoglia Will Hurt Florida Elections
The new bill SB1414 introduced by FL Senator Ingoglia last week is a horrible legal slight of hand being played on Floridians.
The changes this bill introduces will remove the post election audits and replace them with a new mandated system for every county that will review digital ballot images to see if the tabulation is accurate.
Sounds nice on the surface, but this is actually the hell both Georgia and Arizona are currently in because it moves us from a paper ballot to just a digital ballot reconciliation.
Most of the counties in FL are small rural counties and this will force them to purchase additional systems, which is taking away from Trumps call for hand count paper ballots that cost about a tenth of what we pay now.
This bill will forbid the SOEs from checking them against the Clear Ballot [machine] results. As well it removes the ability for the new Elections Crimes Office to investigate any election irregularities and just focus on “alleged crimes.”
Well if no one will be allowed to scrutinize the digital results of an election, how will they even know crimes are being committed?
Again, this is exactly the hell Georgia and Arizona are currently in and Georgia is struggling just to get what Floridians have now with their “Paper Please” campaign.
