15 Countries have told their citizens to get out of Iran now. At the same time, a massive explosion was reported near Tehran.

Also, a huge explosion was just reported outside of Tehran.  Some believe air defense systems may have been targeted.

“Just now, a massive explosion was heard. Not even 5 seconds ago. For now, only smoke is visible. The sound of another explosion followed shortly after.”

Locals are speculating that air defense systems may be being targeted, as they are positioned near the sites of these explosions, including around Parchin, an Iranian military complex near Tehran.

The US aircraft carriers in the area have more firepower than many countries.  They are absolutely lethal.

“ENDGAME FOR IRAN”

In a recent interview with Israel Hayom, retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Herman Shelanski, a former aircraft carrier commander, addressed the possibility of direct military confrontation between the United States and Iran.

Shelanski stated that, in the event of a full-scale conflict, Iranian forces would be rendered “powerless” within a week.

He described U.S. carrier forces as Tehran’s “biggest nightmare,” noting their ability to launch precision strikes from international waters while remaining largely out of reach of Iran’s conventional defenses.

Shelanski underscored that even a lone carrier strike group wields greater airpower than many countries possess in total, making it virtually impossible for Iran’s navy and air force to overcome.

          • There were pics that hit the airwaves then quickly disappeared from the news showing bunches of trucks at the suspected storage facility for yellow cake. They were gone by the time U.S. soldier got there.

            People also forget that chemical weapons are considered weapons of mass destruction. They spent a long time disposing all the mustard gas, etc. they DID find in Iraq. So even without the yellow cake, Iraq undoubtedly had weapons of mass destruction.

But the theft was still on going and there had been a big Filipino theft ring bused, shortly before I hit the fleet or while I was in Boot Camp? The supply chiefs (Filipino) told me that the thieves had made off with Phenix and Sidewinder missiles, but the Iranians even wanted tires and wheel assemblies, too.

          • Which really makes me wonder how Iran can still keep those things flying. I read the other day they had a crash of an old F-4 during a training mission. The pilot died but the backseater survived. Likely because the backseater goes out first as you I'm sure know.

          • Well, that is also the prime reason that the US Air Force (they make the procurement decisions for aircraft for all branches, back then) decided to ditch the F-14 instead of continuing the program with the F-14D and beyond. Backwards compatibility of parts.
            They got all those spar parts from Iran-Contra and other theft programs, other nations that were also flying the F-14. And I am certain that they stole or bought tech like Laser Deposition printing and the like, and started to make their own parts where they could.

          • IIRC the original TFX program was won by General Dynamic's F-111 and the US Navy actually had a version and they carrier tested it. The landing gear was just not up to snuff and pilots complained about visibility on approach. It had a shorter nose. That's how Grumman got the F-14 idea.

    • We do not get oil from Iran.

      While other countries do, they may acquire from other places driving prices up, but not like during the gulf war.

      Venezuela oil will stable our market some. And if we flip their leadership, then the price drops a lot. (We produce a lot more than they do, though)

        • Actually we produce about twice as much as Venezuela, and ours is generally lighter. The speculators always panic, especially when about 14% of the world's production passes through the Straits of Hormuz, but it will be a temporary thing.

        • No! I've worked in NATO and seen the "veterans" of the conscription type militaries.
          HARD PASS! You ONLY, EVER, perform a draft when it is a DIRE STRAIT situation. Because then the conscripts have an incentive to risk their lives valiantly.

          I don't think future wars are going to be like the first battle of the CW where people pulled up for a picnic and thought the South would roll over!

      • I long have said we were the last generation to get a quality public education in the 1970s-1980. We learned about government in civics, real history, and even had trade class training called shop class. The girls had Home-Economics.

An Islamic man came to my door this morning with a delivery from Amazon prime in his personal car. He was on the phone speaking Arabic very loud and upset.   122. There are consequences when diplomacy fails. The price is always paid by civilians and the young we send to fight our wars. Iran has been fighting a largely asymmetrical war – funding terrorist proxies and killing their enemies directly when the opportunity arises.
