BOMBSHELL: I worked with Fauci’s Colleague, Dr. Leslie Fang

As a father, scientist, journalist and a former teacher, my greatest concern quickly became the consequences these policies would have on children. In August 2020, I wrote an article titled Pandemic Abuse, warning that the response to COVID-19 would inflict harms extending far beyond the virus itself:
“Societies worldwide are coming to grips with a multitude of downstream impacts of the pandemic—increased poverty and economic hardship, increased mental health challenges, deferred care for critical medical conditions, and, as researchers increasingly recognized, additional unintended consequences of lockdowns and quarantines, including increases in domestic violence, psychological distress, loneliness, school closures, economic vulnerability, and job losses.”
Unfortunately, many of those warnings proved well founded.
As I dug deeper into the scientific literature, I became increasingly concerned that science itself was becoming politicized.
One example that deeply affected me involved Dr. Leslie Fang, a respected physician and Fauci colleague whose educational presentations I followed during the pandemic. Before President Trump publicly endorsed hydroxychloroquine, Dr. Fang’s presentation explained the drug’s proposed mechanism of action against SARS-CoV-2, discussed laboratory evidence that it inhibited viral replication, and highlighted early clinical studies from France and China reporting shorter recovery times and reduced progression of disease. With my M.S. and a great deal of experience as a scientist, I understood the biology, and I know how to read studies.

Only weeks later, after hydroxychloroquine became politically associated with President Trump, the emphasis of the presentation changed dramatically. Discussion of the drug’s potential benefits disappeared, replaced by news reports criticizing favorable coverage, increased emphasis on potential side effects, and studies questioning its effectiveness. Instead of dispassionate science, professionals turned to ridicule and bullying of those not getting in line with “the narrative.”
Whether hydroxychloroquine ultimately proved broadly effective or ineffective is not the central point. What troubled me was watching scientific discussion appear to shift with the political winds. Treatments that should have been evaluated through transparent, rigorous debate instead became symbols in a partisan war. As a scientist and researcher, I found that transformation deeply disturbing.
I quickly realized that the politics of the Seattle company that employed me were precarious, and I had to be careful in my role as editor-in-chief. So, I “snuck in” real science and hints that people need to think critically, like this June, 2020 article, which surprisingly survived the purge of my other articles on the site after they purged me from their ranks. Here I urge people to follow the Scientific Method, which never speaks of “settled science,” and never shuts down questioning.
Then I began seeing the disastrous effects of this political warping and obscuring of science itself was having on school children.
In Arizona alone, approximately $2.6 billion in federal funding was directed to public schools to implement CDC guidance, with my local district receiving approximately $5.5 million. These financial incentives encouraged school boards and administrators to disregard the pleas of parents and students while minimizing or ignoring what many believed was a growing youth mental health and suicide crisis associated with prolonged school closures and other pandemic policies.
The forced children to wear masks, even in 100-degree-plus heat, isolated and ostracized kids, and deprived an entire generation of their social and academic lives.

When parents spoke out, many were treated not as partners in their children’s education, but as adversaries. In my case, law enforcement was used to arrest peaceful dissenters, including parents—and in some instances even children. Parents across the country were stigmatized as “domestic terrorists,” while longstanding parental rights protections were, in my view, effectively cast aside. (I’ve talked a great deal about the targeted parents issue.)
They will be held to account.
I have never questioned that SARS-CoV-2 posed a serious threat to elderly individuals and those with significant medical conditions—and at first, Dr. Fang and others were honest enough to admit this…until Fauci and others willing to commit crimes against humanity began to sow lies. So many physicians who knew better in their heart of hearts dutifully fell in line.
My objection from the start was against inhumane and abusive policies that imposed extraordinary burdens on children, who faced comparatively low risk from the virus itself. Lockdowns, prolonged school closures, child masking, and vaccine mandates for healthy children represented profit-driven human experimentation, child abuse, and violations of fundamental human rights.
As a result,
Taking that stand came at an enormous personal cost, starting with being “canceled” out of my full-time job with the Seattle company that had me interacting with Dr. Fang. And this was only “the beginning of sorrows.”
It’s been over five years of immense sacrifice and loss, but it literally saved the lives of numerous children; I’d do it again, even knowing now that doing so would cost us everything but our very lives.

For more than half a decade, my family endured repeated threats to our lives, defamatory media attacks, government retaliation, and sustained efforts to destroy our business and silence our voice.
History teaches that free societies cannot heal by ignoring their mistakes. We owe it to our children—and to future generations—to examine what happened honestly, demand accountability where it is warranted, and ensure that fear never again becomes an excuse to sacrifice liberty, parental rights, scientific integrity, or the well-being of our children.
I only hope people will finally listen, regardless of their politics.
