On the same day Senator Bob Menendez was indicted for crimes much less than those of Joe and Hunter Biden, Senator Menendez released a letter praising continued restrictions against Iran.
Was Menendez targeted because of his praise of efforts to put constraints on Iran’s efforts to go nuclear?
The US Foreign Relations Committee in the Senate released a letter on Friday, the same day that Menendez was indicted, praising European efforts to continue to restrict Iran’s ballistic missile and drone program. Senator Bob Menendez runs the committee.
Today, U.S. Senators Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Senator Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), led a bipartisan letter with 29 fellow Senators to E3 countries (United Kingdom, France, and Germany) applauding them for taking steps to uphold restrictions on Iran’s ballistic missile and drone program. The letter also encourages the E3 countries to urge our European allies and other like-minded partners to do the same.
In addition to Chairman Menendez and Senator Hagerty, the letter is also signed by Senators Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Jeanne Shaheen, (D-N.J.), Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.), John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Catherine Cortez-Masto (D-Nev.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Bob Casey (D-Penn.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), John Fetterman (D-Penn.), Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), John N. Kennedy (R-La.), Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Chris Coons (D-Del.), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), and Deb Fischer (R-Neb.).
“We write to applaud the decision to take concrete actions to uphold restrictions on Iran’s ballistic missile and drone program this fall,” wrote the lawmakers. “In October 2023, international sanctions on Iran’s import and export of missile and drone-related technology under UN Security Council Resolution 2231 will sunset. Allowing these restrictions to expire poses a threat to stability and security in the Middle East and beyond.”
“Without the force of a binding UN Security Council resolution, there is no multilateral framework that mandates international sanctions on Iran’s missile and drone program,” continued the lawmakers. “For these reasons and more, we strongly support the decision to take steps that would maintain sanctions on Iran’s missile and drone program before UN sanctions sunset in mid-October, and we encourage you to urge other European allies and other like-minded partners to do the same.”
Yesterday, Senator Menendez was targeted and indicted by Biden’s DOJ. It’s uncanny that the DOJ would ignore Biden crimes related to bribery and extortion in the multimillions of dollars and go after Menendez for much, much less.
This entire action by the corrupt DOJ is puzzling. The DOJ only attacks those who go against the regime and innocent people who love America.
Could it be Menendez was targeted because of his praise of Iran restrictions?
