The truth will set you free but in AG Merrick Garland’s case, it will also get you impeached and it should land him a long prison sentence.
This is what you get when the Department of Justice is no longer on the side of justice and the law.
The Daily Caller reported last week that:
U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland downplayed the corruption concerns stemming from bombshell whistleblowers’ testimonies about Hunter Biden’s case Friday.
The House Ways and Means Committee released testimonies by two IRS whistleblowers who alleged Garland and IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel lied to Congress about political interference regarding Hunter Biden’s tax violations case.
Garland downplayed the corruption concerns, saying these allegations are an “attack” on an essential democratic institution.
“I certainly understand that some have chosen to attack the integrity of the Justice Department, its components and its employees by claiming that we do not treat cases, like cases alike. This constitutes an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy and essential to the safety of the American people. Nothing could be further from the truth.”
…Gary Shapley, one of the whistleblowers, alleged the IRS violated normal investigatory protocols that benefitted Biden. Shapley oversaw the tax investigation into Hunter Biden.
Shapley said Garland lied there would be no political interference in Biden’s investigation and alleged the DOJ refused to follow up on incriminating messages between Biden and Chinese businessman Henry Zhao. Biden allegedly threatened Zhao by saying, “I am with my father,” to make Zhao “regret not following in [his] direction.”
However, whistleblower Shapley came back with additional support for his accusations of Garland’s lies by providing others who backed up his accusations of Garland.
According to the Gateway Pundit:
Shapely also revealed Hunter Biden demanded payment from his Chinese business associate over WhatsApp messenger and used his powerful father as muscle as he issued threats.
The WhatsApp message Hunter Biden sent to Henry Zhao is as follows according to the IRS whistleblower:
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight. And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my directions. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”
The whistleblower allegations directly contradict Merrick Garland’s statements under oath about the independence of the Justice Department.
When Garland lied about the facts from Shapely, more evidence was released supporting Shapely’s accusations by his attorneys in a statement shared on Twitter:
“In an October 7, 2022, meeting at the Delaware U.S. Attorney’s Office, U.S. Attorney David Weiss told six witnesses he did not have authority to charge in other districts and had thus requested special counsel status. Those six witnesses include Baltimore FBI Special Agent in Charge Tom Sobocinski and Assistant Special Agent in Charge Ryeshia Holley, IRS Assistant Special Agent in Charge Gary Shapley and Special Agent in Charge Darrell Waldon, who also independently and contemporaneously corroborated Mr. Shapley’s account in an email, now public as Exhibit 10, following p. 148 of his testimony transcript. Mr. Shapley would have no insight into why Mr. Weiss’s would make these statements at the October 7, 2022 meeting if they were false. That Mr. Weiss made these statements is easily corroborated, and it is up to him and the Justice Department to reconcile the evidence of his October 7, 2022 statements with contrary statements by Mr. Weiss and the Attorney General to Congress.”
