Pope Leo XIV Misses It – Jesus Is a Warrior Against Evil

Jesus walking in the sand

Jesus was a warrior.

The current Pope in Rome, the first American Pope, Pope Leo XIV, claims that Jesus wanted peace, but this is only a part of the story.  Jesus stood strong in the face of wrongdoing as well.

Pope Leo XIV, without naming any specific leaders or conflicts, suggested on Friday that Christian political leaders who start wars should go to confession and assess whether they are following the teachings of Jesus.

“Do those Christians who bear grave responsibility in armed conflicts have the humility and courage to make a serious examination of conscience and to go to confession?” the Pope asked in a speech to priests.

While Leo did not name anyone on Friday, in recent days, he has been ramping up calls for an end to the ongoing Iran war, which began with joint U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Feb. 28.

President Donald Trump was raised in the Presbyterian Christian faith. Several of his top deputies, including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, are Catholic.

This Pope appears unfortunately close to the Pope Francis faithful who used Catholic Charities to illegally import illegals into the US and who backed COVID’s anti-freedom policies despite the related destruction of the church.

Here are some Bible verses that show that Jesus is a warrior who stands against evil.

Psalm 35:1

“Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me!” – Psalm 35:1

Isaiah 54:17

“No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn.” – Isaiah 54:17

2 Thessalonians 3:3

“But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” – 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Revelation 19:11

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice, he judges and wages war.” – Revelation 19:11

Revelation 17:14

“They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen, and faithful followers.” – Revelation 17:14

1 Corinthians 15:57

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 15:57
