Today more sad news from the music industry – Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey has died at the age of 67. Frey co-founded the Eagles in 1971. The band was one of the most successful of all time with numerous hits from Frey and his fellow band member Don Henley. Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmidt.
“Frey emerged as one of the band’s chief songwriters, the Lennon to Don Henley’s McCartney. He penned their breakout hit Take It Easy – a song as laid back as its title suggests – with Jackson Browne.”
Since Obama has taken over federal spending has skyrocketed. The outlook is not good either, because as interest rates rise the amount of federal money needed to pay just the interest on the federal debt will increase incrementally.
According to the Congressional Budget Office, when Obama took over the amount of US federal spending was less than $3 trillion a year. Since Obama, spending has never been less than $3.4 trillion a year and the federal deficits have exceeded more than $1 trillion during Obama’s first 4 years alone. As a matter of fact, Obama’s deficits his first 4 years totalled more than $6 trillion which makes it a sure bet that Obama will average more than $1 trillion a year in deficits while he is in office.
Obama can be proud to have set the world record for overseeing the largest federal budget ever. He is also world record holder for largest deficits ever, with each of his year’s deficits being more than any president ever.
With interest rates rising, baby boomers retiring and more unskilled illegal and legal immigrants being allowed into the country than ever before, Obama has left a mess for the next President and all future generations to come.
(And this does not even include the trillions in unfunded government promises not even counted in these numbers.)
The Democratic Party on the other hand overwhelmingly represents the very rich and the poorest districts in America. Democrats represent 14 of the richest 20 congressional districts in the US. Democrats represent 36 of the poorest 39 districts in the US. They rely on poor voters and liberal elites to put them in office.
The Republican Party, on the other hand, represents the middle class by a 2 to 1 ratio when compared with the Democratic party.
When Barack Obama came into office white-leaning districts split between the parties almost equally during the 111th Congress, in 2009-10.
Today Republicans hold a 3-1 advantage in working class white districts. Punitive Democratic policies have pushed working class Americans to the GOP.
Today the working middle class is the base of the Republican Party.
Last weekend Wall Street Journal published an article reporting that “Donald Trump has built his leading position in the Republican primary race by bringing together an underappreciated segment of the party, the blue-collar base.
Donald Trump has built his leading position in the Republican primary race by bringing together an underappreciated segment of the GOP—blue-collar voters who aren’t especially animated by social issues—and who may be setting the stage for an unusual, three-person sprint to the nomination.
Mr. Trump’s appeal is a form of secular populism rarely seen in Republican primary races, and one he is pressing in part with appearances in working-class communities in Iowa that include independent voters and even Democrats who may be lured into the caucuses. The celebrity businessman’s message appears to resonate among voters who believe most strongly that political leaders are unable to put the nation back on track.
The WSJ notes that Trump’s backers tend to be more working class than upper income which should come as no surprise to the Republican Party. Trump represents the GOP base.
The heart of the Republican Party – the working class – supports Trump. Isn’t it about time the GOP elites listen to their base?
The major media won’t mention this but the truth is clear – the Obama administration is to blame for the Paris attacks.
Here is what ultimately led to the murders this week in Paris:
** When Obama took over the Presidency he promised to remove US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan and close down Gitmo. These terrorist friendly policies led to the creation of ISIS in Iraq after the US withdrew all troops. That is clear. Obama also released dozens of murderers from Gitmo. Then, when all hell broke loose in Iraq, Obama denied it was his idea to withdraw all the troops. This was another Obama lie.
** After the US exit from Iraq, ISIS began its terrible rampage of murdering, raping and enslaving thousands of innocents. The Islamic State consumed territory the size of Great Britain. When Obama finally moved to do something due to public outrage, it was weak and little more than a show. At least one American military official even commented Obama must want an Islamist state in Damascus.
The Obama administration still doesn’t have a policy for the capture of terrorists and so the US doesn’t capture them – they are either bombed to hell or set free. ISIS is still in place in Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Africa, and Afghanistan. The Taliban is also on the march in Afghanistan. Obama is not only horrible for the US, he is horrible for the world peace. 129 people are dead in Paris because of Barack Obama.
While Bernie Sanders was pushing socialism comparing the US to China, my wife and I were visiting Gramma Zheng in Hubei province, whose first husband died of starvation from Mao’s socialist policies. Gramma Zheng’s first husband would rather feed his wife and their three daughters the small amount of food rations available than watch them die of starvation, and although they survived, he did not.
Democratic Socialist Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders tweeted this week — “China – not exactly seen as a model when it comes to human rights – provides 14 weeks of paid maternity leave. The US provides zero.”
Actor James Woods tweeted in response – ““China has notoriously killed female infants for population control, you utter moron. #ChinaGendercide.”
Although China did institute maternity leave benefits in 2011, the leave is rarely enforced and the benefit is paltry at best ($2000). Also, because the maternity leave is paid by companies, 46% of the more than 1.3 billion Chinese who work in the more rural areas are not eligible for the benefit.
As reported previously, in 2011 the US spent more than 30 times that of China on social programs per capita. In 2013 the ratio was closer to 17 times that of China, but the data is suspect as China most likely over reports the amount of benefits to its citizenry and the US most likely under reports similar amounts. The true ratio is probably much higher than the US spending 30 times more than China on social programs per capita but it is difficult to determine.
Today communist China is becoming more capitalistic and the US is becoming more socialist. As a result, socialist China is becoming more prosperous and the US is approaching a fiscal cliff. Poverty is being reduced in China and poverty is on the rise in the US.
Someone needs to tell Sanders that socialism does not work and indeed it kills.
We now know that Hilary Clinton hid her emails from the government during her stint as Secretary of State, but why?
It came out in March 2015 that Hilary Clinton had housed her official government emails on her personal server. This was in spite of official Department cables sent to diplomatic and consular staff in June 2011 and bearing Clinton’s electronic signature that made clear to employees they were expected to “avoid conducting official Department business from your personal e-mail accounts.”
Mrs. Clinton last week came out on Meet the Press with Chuck Todd and finally answered some questions about her email server scandal. The first subject that Mrs. Clinton was asked to address was why she would go to all the trouble and expense of setting up her own private email server unless she had something to hide. Clinton laughed off the question by asking “Another conspiracy theory?” She never really answered the question. (As pointed out by HotAir, NBC blocked the video clips of her responses because they apparently made Hillary look bad.)
Cleary, Mrs. Clinton doesn’t want the American people to see her emails especially in relation to Benghazi. And, based on her history, she is known to place herself above the law (See Coulter’s High Crimes and Misdemeanors and Peschmann’s The Whistleblower). But more importantly to Hillary, and not in defense of her actions, Obama’s recent slams show Hillary’s clear motive – she really wanted to hide her emails from Obama!
This interview on FOX with American financial author, radio host, television personality, and motivational speaker, Dave Ramsey, is well worth watching. Ramsey breaks down what the universities teach about socialism and counters that what is really needed is good leadership. The marketplace weeds out unethical behaviors and rather than becoming more dependent on the government, the government needs to get out of the way.
As the US struggles with illegal immigration and the related challenges, it is helpful to see how other countries like Hong Kong handle immigration. Hong Kong, with a population of 7 million, handles around 277 million visitors annually. It sits next door to Guangzhou, which is the world’s largest city (when including Shenzhen), with a population of nearly 50 million. Like the US, Hong Kong has found tunnels dug under its border with China, but unlike the US, Hong Kong has a fence to protect itself from unwanted visitors.
The fence and strong border security resulted in less than 1000 Mainland China illegal immigrants intercepted and arrested at the border. No pregnant illegal immigrants were intercepted in 2013 and girls who enter Hong Kong and lie about being pregnant in order to have their children born in Hong Kong are thrown in jail.
Hong Kong has immigration policies in place to attract talent and capital. Overseas professionals who possess special skills, knowledge or experience of value to and not readily available in Hong Kong, or who are in a position to make substantial contributions to the economy, are allowed to apply to work in Hong Kong. It also has e-channel counters which allow legal residents to pass safely and quickly in and out of Hong Kong.
When a massive flow of around 200,000 Vietnamese refugees, or ‘boat people’ entered Hong Kong in the late 1970’s, Hong Kong implemented generous immigration policies that allowed these immigrants to take up to 3 months to find a country of permanent residency. In order to house these people, Hong Kong opened purpose-built holding facilities, called ‘closed’ or ‘transit’ camps. Some of these camps are still visible today. (The Hong Kong government is still in the process of recovering from the United Nations the $250 million tab for handling these migrants.)
The difference between the US and Hong Kong is that the US does not have a fence and therefore an open door for illegals to come into the country. US policies on which legal immigrants are allowed to stay make no sense and illegals are set free rather than incarcerated and sent back to their home country.
Obama has compared himself publically to Reagan and said he thinks he’s led a new Reagan revolution. He’s been hailed on the old Continent as a president with almost European sensitivities and worldviews. But, Obama is more like Communist Hugo Chavez than anyone. Here are 5 examples to support this comparison –
1 Both Obama and Chavez Support Fellow Communist Thugs – Honduran Dictator Manuel Zelaya and the Communist Cuban Castro Brothers
Obama and then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were quick to admonish the Honduran government when former President Manuel Zelaya attempted to take over the country. Zelaya like Chavez attempted to extend his stay as president which was against Honduras’ constitution. Obama supported this dictator rather than democracy.
2 Anti Freedom of the Press – FOX news
According to Human Rights Watch under Chávez, the government dramatically expanded its ability to control the content of the country’s broadcast and news media. Chavez passed laws extending and toughening penalties for speech that “offends” government officials.
Obama does the same when he assaults FOX News.
3 Assault on Critics – Sheriff Joe and the IRS
Chávez publicly called for the imprisonment of a judge for 30 years after she granted conditional liberty to a prominent government critic who had spent almost three years in prison awaiting trial, according to Human Rights Watch. The judge, María Lourdes Afiuni, was arrested and spent more than a year in prison in pretrial detention, in deplorable conditions. She’s still under house arrest.
Obama’s Justice Department raided Sheriff Joe’s Arizona office in July 2014. Sheriff Joe has been outspoken about Obama including holding a press conference to announce the birth certificate provided by Obama to the public was a computer generated forgery. Obama’s IRS targeted Tea Party and other groups critical of Obama.
The numbers of food stamp participants under the Obama administration are at record highs.
5 Government Take Overs
Chavez has a long history of government takeovers of oil, gas, agriculture, power, telecommunications and banking firms. This theft occurred for years in support of socialist policies to keep him in power.
Obama on the other hand stole from bondholders their rights when he bailed out the GM and Chrysler unions. In doing so, the administration created uncertainty in the bond market. Bonds were supposed to be safer investments than stocks. But who would want to invest in long-term bonds if the government could step in at any time and void the legal rights of the bond owners?
(the more this comparison is made the more Obama mirrors Chavez)
The Democrat-media complex is working overtime to paint Barack Obama’s time in office as a success. The administration is even trying to convince Americans that Obama is just like Ronald Reagan. Obama said so himself earlier this month. The far left president said he thinks he’s led a new Reagan revolution.
1 Reagan took down the Iron Wall – Obama created ISIS
Who can forget Reagan saying to the Russians: “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall”? Reagan is credited with defeating Communism. Obama on the other hand promised to remove troops from Iraq. As a result Obama created ISIS and now denies it was his idea to remove troops from Iraq in the first place.
During the Obama years, thanks to his big government policies, the US economy has stalled. The US economy has grown an anemic 9.6% during the Obama years (excluding the decline in GDP in the 1st Quarter of 2015).
3 Reagan Dealt with Iran – Iran Dealt with Obama
Obama along with Secretary of State Kerry worked hard to give the terrorist regime in Iran everything they asked for in a nuclear agreement. The US will provide Iran billions while not doing a damn thing about getting US hostages out of Iran.
“On January 20, 1981, Iran released 52 Americans who had been held hostage for 444 days, minutes after the presidency had passed from Jimmy Carter to Ronald Reagan. The hostages were placed on a plane in Tehran as Reagan delivered his inaugural address.”
4 Reagan Created Jobs – Obama Killed Job Creation
Of course, Obama’s record on job growth is also much worse than President Reagan’s record.
Net job growth has declined under Obama. By the end of the second year of their terms as president, economic growth under Reagan averaged 7.1% , under Obama an anemic 2.8%. (IJ Review)
And today, more than five years into the tepid recovery, labor-force participation remains at its lowest level since 1978 during the Carter years.
5 Reagan Bombed Libya and Kept it in Check – Obama Bombed Libya and Gave it to ISIS
Reagan acted decisively when Libya was identified as a country sponsoring terrorist activities. He bombed the Gaddaffi regime when this information was uncovered and vowed to protect Americans around the globe.
Obama on the other hand, bombed Libya when there was no threat and when Libya had committed no recent acts of aggression against the US. Libya volunteered to allow inspectors into the country after the US stood up to Iraq during the GW Bush years. As a result of Obama bombing Libya, ISIS is now in charge of the country and four Americans were murdered in Benghazi needlessly with the perpetrators being labeled rioters and not terrorists.
After six years in office it is clear Obama is nothing like Ronald Reagan. Obama took the exact opposite actions as Reagan and the US and the international community are left to deal with the disastrous results.
